I mean, this guy's solution is government-mandated girlfriends ("eNfOrcEd mOnOgAmy"), so let's not pollute this space with the patron saint of incels.

Jordan Peterson has made a career out of taking obvious truths, throwing them into a word salad, and using that as a vessel to promote extremely problematic ideas. Even the fact that he got a job as a professor was a complete fluke; the guy that vouched for him came to regret it dearly.

I'm not trashing you OP, we all hate hook-up culture here at FDS, but no one needs these alt-right manosphere personalities infiltrating our philosophies. They're dangerous because they know how to sound reasonable, at first.

There are two episodes about him on "Behind The Bastards", a pretty interesting podcast, that will really hammer home what I'm talking about. They explain his life & problematic philosophies much better than I can. I'd strongly recommend you give it a listen!

He's not wrong about this particular subject. But most of his ideas have plenty of misogyny underneath them, and have the purpose of pleasing his target audience- men. Some of them might be valuable but are problematic for the said reason.

One example: how he sees the increase in violence and mass shootings, etc. He gives the men responsible for those issues a pat on the head and says they do all of this because whey want a girlfriend and feel lonely, lol. (Notice how he paints the murderers as the victims) Therefore, enforced monogamy (as another one commented) - forcing women to put up with the said potential murderers- is the solution for this!

And, simultaneously, he believes that women are chaos and men must bring order to the chaos! Ha. That couldn't make less sense, given the scenario above.

This man and his cult of misogyny, in my sincere opinion, should not receive a single notice from this sub, considering that he stands up for everything we fight against. Even if he has enough common sense to make a solid point from time to time, we should never ignore the nonsense crap he's said before and how it encouraged his audience of scrotes.

This guy views women as property of men. Plenty of misogynists think hookup culture is bad - they also don’t believe in women’s agency to govern their own lives or bodies.

Dating websites/apps (or Internet) allowed men to cast a wide net in the dating pool, increasing the probability of getting some form of attention/gratification from women.

Society then continued to bully women (more “liberated”) out of creating and maintaining high standards for themselves. They figured out a way to keep us a commodity to fuck, use, and abuse under the guise of slut-shaming, patriarchy, empowerment, etc.

JP is a POS. I listened to some of his commentary in the video, but could not stand to bare more, tbh.

A broken clock is right twice a day. I'm seeing more posts about the wisdom of Jordan Petersen. He believes men should be paid more because they're "competent." Its getting suspicious.

I know we generally dislike his fanbase and ideology but I came across this dialogue today and I think he made some valid points such as how Tinder (among other things) is a machine that’s turning our monogamous culture into a polygamous one.
I also enjoy his commentaries on contemporary dating culture it especially regarding hookup/ ONS/ dating app scene:
“We allow our culture to be run by the pathetic fantasies of immature, adolescent delusion”
I'm curious what are your thoughts on this?
