I've been thinking about this a lot recently. All the mental gymnastics I did, constantly wondering if I was the problem. I'm realizing that towards the end I started giving back low effort because that's what I was getting. I also feel like I started getting mean and often disregarded his feelings because the frustration had built up and I was so angry and sad ALL THE TIME. I definitely took it out on him in a very passive aggressive manner. Which I felt guilty for. I kept thinking if I went back to how doting I was at the beginning then he would change. But it's hard to give your all to someone who gives you so little in return. After awhile I found that my negative emotions where spilling out into my other relationships. That's when I knew I had to leave. This man was truly Negative Value. My relationship with him was taking away from the very positive and healthy relationships in my life. When I was sad from the breakup it was those people: friends and family who lifted up my spirits, upported and uplifted me. Imagine if I had stayed with this man? And sacrificed all my other relationships at the alter of our doomed situationship? I really honestly shudder to think. π bottom line: NVM will have you spinning around thinking you're part of the problem and sometimes you ARE because they drove you crazy through neglect. Drop those leeches and see how your life improves. π

Wow. I could have written the exact same thing, about an ex. It's wild how many of us have gone through such similar scenarios...

Wow I feel called out lmao. I remember having arguments with my ex about him flirting with other women constantly and gaslighting me and then heβd do like...3 nice things. Rinse, repeat for 6 months til I finally realized yanno what I can probably find a guy that does all these nice things without all the blatant disrespect lol. The cognitive dissonance is real.

Or Me vs. LV Family Members/Friends
The sad reality of discovering FDS is having to find out who isn't TRULY in my tribe of support because of the internalized sexism, but I'm happier now that I know where they stand in the sandbox
