Can confirm. I was so frustrated earlier on in my dating years because I assumed men had this rich, complex inner world of emotional insight like I did and they were just being stubborn and refusing to share it with me.

Several of my gay friends confirmed the obvious: most of them don't.

This confounds me about men and society. Women (all of us) are freed from patriarchal social mores by researching, changing our behavior, and educating ourselves. We use emotional intelligence. We do what's uncomfortable.

It seems like men are averse to widespread change. You can't blame women for unfulfilling relationships with men. Why don't men change the status quo? Women risk all the stereotypical comforts when we challenge culture. So, why can't men do the same? Afraid to be called gay? A virgin? Or some woman related slur?

It makes no sense. Men's inability to change puts women in danger. They'd rather mistreat/abuse women than do what's uncomfortable. What value do their homosocial interactions have?

yeah their relationships are so shallow I have honestly never met a man who has a fulfilling relationship with a friend. they just like.. say rude things to each other while doing an activity and then go home.

I read something about how this is why women typically do better after breakups. Women create networks of support with friends and family members you can trust and rely on for emotional support, but because a lot of men dont have meaningful friendships or relationships with family and used the woman for emotional labour, they cant cope as well with the breakup as they have noone to turn to afterwards
