Love the being rich part and turning down dick you don’t want... but did you see this movie?
She’s doing this because she has just found out he cheated on her. Chooses to stay with him because, money. Goes on to have several more kids with him while he’s a drug addicted trash monster who constantly takes antibiotics for the STIs he gets repeatedly from fucking hookers.

I don't get it either.
This film pissed me off tbh. I'm in no way a prude, but it's SO LONG, 90% without plot, also 90% gratuitous shots of him snorting coke and fucking hookers. It's blatantly made so men can watch it and fantasise about that hollow misogynistic existence being their life. Just seems quite pathetic.
I can even tell you the point it lost me. At the beginning of the film there's a shot of him driving while his wife is giving him a blow job, and he narrates directly to straight male viewers (female viewers obviously irrelevant), "Put your dick back in your pants."
Thanks for the reminder that the whole world and the film industry caters to men and couldn't give a fuck about women.

Same. And the character herself is a huge pick me for sleeping with him even when she knew he had a wife.
Ngl, Something about Margot Robbie and from seeing her interviews also irks me because she comes off as the “quirky cool girl” trope in person. Just my 2 cents

Yes, and Jordan Belfort himself claimed the film was a cautionary tale. Right...
The one exception I have is American Psycho, which I think people often miss is satire. To me it's masterfully done - written by a gay man and directed by a woman, too. (NB: I realise Bret Easton Ellis is awful.)

Oh man I stay away from guys who like this movie. Margot Robbie is a fantastic actress but she was totally underused in this role. Love her wardrobe though!

Oh no. I remember the guy that tried to rape me (we were friends first) wanted to watch this movie. Yuck. It makes sense now. I'm glad we were in a group that day and went to see a Disney movie instead!
But its also giving me flashbacks to befoee Christmas when I was still a pickme before fds. The huge clown i was seeing had meet meet his friends for a hangout and him and his male buddy wanted to watch this. The friends girlfriend acted nice to me but she was the biggest pickme "omg I've been wanting to see that movie I love jlo and stripping is so empowering! Are you in?" And the clown like "come on baby girl lets all watch it" the movie was Hustlers
Me knowing this is so weird and wrong even back then "yeah sure! Why not!"
Me part way into the movie "oh no I didn't realize it was this late I should be heading out"
I slowly started wising up and it got me here.
