write a letter to him. write it allllll down. all of your feelings. all the things you could have said or done or stopped or would do if you saw him again. pour it all out. the good. the bad. the ugly. and when you’re done, throw the letter away.

and when you feel the same emotions, because subconsciously they may still linger and show up in your dreams- become the better person in spite of what others have done to you. So when you do see them, if you do, you know that it’s their loss that you are not in contact. they don’t get to spend time with you or drain your energy ever again and you won’t even feel BOTHERED to tell them all the things you wanted to. Because they’re not worth your time and energy.

I think it is important to live contrary to what he’s said (while still being real) and let that speak for itself. If people ask you about what happened be honest and by your actions give them no room to doubt you!

For me it helps to remember that people like that are bound to self destruct and be found out somewhere at some point even if it's not now because they can't hide from who they are. If they didn't learn now the universe will teach them a hard lesson at some point.

While you, you get to live the truth, you live honestly, and there's always going to be better waiting for you.

I also like to think of it as a purge of fake people from social circles when they believe the slanders and lies. I think in the long run it's good that that was revealed so that you can make room for better people.

Of course I don't think this alone will help with getting over it, but just a tad bit of something that might add into the healing.

Most people will not care. People are surprisingly uninterested in the minutiae of others lives. Do you spend time mulling over who was the biggest twat in your pal Brenda's break-up? If so, for how long? Most things are soon forgotten if you let them lie.

You say he spun the whole thing within your friend group. How close are you to these people? I’m assuming not that close because otherwise you could just tell them one on one your side and they would believe you. As far as this LVM, I would NOT engage or speak up to him at all. The reason being that he is a vengeful person and you need to put your safety first. The other reason being he has LVM logic and wouldn’t even understand it on a deep level and seems so immature to even do this to begin with. I would personally recommend finding a new friend group or distancing yourself until it blows over. I really don’t feel this is something that is just in your head. I think there is a lot of legitimate things bothering you about this. I think you want it all to just be okay and comfortable. That’s not going to happen for awhile. You do not need to pretend it is okay. You also would not be thinking about it so much if you were able to just block him and not have him be friends with your friends. You do have power here, just not with him. You can control how often you use social media, if you block him, if you distance yourself, if you make new friends. Hope you feel better 💕
