I just ended a 20 year old friendship to a male friend of mine because of his statement "not all men". "Not all men " statements are part of the problem and create an unsafe environment for us women.

I had a fellow IRL FDS attorney colleague shut down a (also an attorney, graduated in the same year I did) man playing devil’s advocate in her comment section RE: fatphobia the other day. And it warmed the cockles of my cold little heart when she and a few other friends collectively told him to fuck off for debating fat women’s right to exist.

I don’t debate a few things with men: my blackness, my femininity, my education, and my right to humanity. And I beseech you all to shut that shit down at its outset when they try.

And as an aside: Do 👏🏾 not 👏🏾 play 👏🏾 devil’s 👏🏾 advocate 👏🏾 unless 👏🏾 he’s 👏🏾 paying 👏🏾 your 👏🏾 bills. But I know y’all don’t do that. It’s the overly confident white man’s calling card, after all.

I was in another subreddit earlier where there was a discussion on the #NotAllMen hashtag and there were so many men playing devil's advocate and trying to downplay sexual harassment. I think I might had broken my block button by the time I left that post.

They don't care about what women are going through until women brings it up then it's, "Uh, I'd like to say in my honest opinion that uh, you're wrong about the things you faced being a woman despite being a woman and here's what I concluded as a man observing you, a woman, being a woman but I just want you, a woman, to see it from my POV as a man, because you're a woman." STFU.
