If you've been struggling with anger when confronted with how awful, violent, and depraved men can be on a daily basis, this post is for you.

I've heard of many people refer to anger as "damaging" or "unhealthy". As someone who's often filled with justified anger, I wanted to share my point of view.

I think anger is severely undervalued in women. I think it is necessary and world-altering. We should hate injustice, all of us.

It's not the anger or the hatred that is your problem, it's the LACK OF ACTION when it arises. Your body is giving you a potent fuel to move mountains, and if you can't find a way to USE it, it will burn you alive.

You're going to get advice that says to bury it. To find a way to extinguish it. You know deep down that's not the answer, because you know deep down that you're right to feel it.

Whenever you feel that passion creeping, try this routine.

Stop Take a breath Commit to doing 2 things for your community and then 1 thing for yourself.

Examples could be:

*Donate to an organization or community that truly empowers women. There are several great radical feminist groups and publications.

*Reach out to a woman you know to check in on her. Do something to lift the spirits of the sisters in your life

*Make your voice heard online. Offer support and share information

*Volunteer

*Seek out new local connections with women that feel the same. Build community.

*Create or collaborate on art that sends a message. Write, draw make zines, stickers, or even memes.

*TALK to other women about your anger. They may feel it too. And if they don't now, they may later, and will remember you as someone safe to talk to.

Remember that even small things build over time, if done consistently

And for the 1 thing for yourself, this could be almost anything that truly empowers or nourishes you. Just remember that self care is different than self indulgence.

Use that spite to build up yourself and your sisters.

I promise you, you'll feel better.
