🚩 Red Flag if they mention mental health issues early on, while it isn't relevant to disclose this information.

They'll use it as an excuse for shitty behaviour and will hide behind the fact that they ToLD yOU aBouT tHEiR isSuEs so now you cannot complain about anything that may be caused by their diagnosis. They will avoid responsibilty and accountability, blaming it on something 'out of their control'. They're possibly also (subconsciously) creating a false sense of intimacy by sharing personal information way too quickly. It opens the other party up to reveal details about their weaknesses as well.

People who worked through their mental health issues are no longer defined by them. People with healthy boundaries do not share vulnerable information like mental health issues early on with strangers they're dating.

While I am far more forgiving with friends and acquintances, I've begun booting them from my life as well if they consistently and fully evade accountability through their mental health issues. Popular tropes include: the person with depression who flakes on you all the time; the one with an anxiety disorder who always vents about their worries; the controlling obsessive-compulsive; the verbally abusive borderliner; the one with AD(H)D who is always late or forgets plans; the highly inappropriate manic bipolar; the perpetually triggered PTSD who you need to walk on eggshells for... etcetera, etcetera. My life has never been more tranquil!
