Okay but I don't get why this situation is leading to people shitting on white women. Two black celebrities got into a fight. Why are so many people on social media talking about white women? Like, am I missing something? What do white chicks have to do with Will Smith punching Chris Rock?

And please don't downvote me because I'm genuinely asking. I saw the punch, looked it up on Twitter and found a bunch of people on black Twitter complaining about where women. Like ... if two plus two is four ... and five plus five is ten ... what the fuck is going on?

I know there are a lot of us black ladies within this sub so I felt comfortable posting here.

Should Will Smith have punched Chris Rock? No. Could he have handled it better? Absolutely. But why does it seem like whenever black women’s issues arise or whenever black women are targeted, the only acceptable option we face is to sit down and be quiet? Why has the majority of the conversation been about male aggression and dominance or about how Jada apparently deserves this?

The bottom line is, there is a history of male degeneracy and depravity when it comes to the ways in which black women specifically are treated. Black women are one of - if not the only - groups of women in the world that are not actively elevated and pursued as a whole by our male counterpart. Our positive image is ignored and is even erased from mainstream media.

Is no one seeing the blatant misogyny - specifically misogynoir - that Chris Rock exhibited here? Or is it just that no one want to see it?
