Same thing with arguing that adolescent women have the right to date middle aged men. No one was questioning their right to begin with, most people rightfully point out how predatory it is for middle aged men to seek out teenagers for sex.But yeah, let's keep pretending any of these are issues over women's agency, keep the spotlight away from these men and never ever ask what it says about them...

I was watching a documentary about sex trafficking and one of the hosts was saying how these women are basically being paid to be raped. The women talk about how they have to dissociate during, which is a tell tale sign that they are not enjoying what they're doing. Even if "voluntary", like a woman who becomes an escort or sugar baby, she is still doing it for the money. I am an ex sugar baby and sex worker and those are not my opinions, they are facts. If a woman claims otherwise she's just in denial. If she didn't need money she wouldn't do that kind of work. I cannot stand the narrative that sex work is empowering because at the end of the day, your entire existence/identity is dependent on the male gaze.
