I read a some of your comments. Are you sure your chronic pain isn't from mental stress? It took me a decade to realize that my chronic pain was from being tense all the time. It's called armoring. I was even diagnosed with fibromyalgia at one point. A fascia blaster worked miracles for the body tension.
By the way, your SO sounds like a real piece of work. I have one similar. They're not worth your health.
