I really wanted to like this, but the series was not well-written.

I watched the whole thing anyway, because I was rooting for it, but it just came across as boring. Given that the content isn’t, and the actors were good, I think the problem was that the script wasn’t good enough. The dialogue was often flat, making the characters seem dull.
