I am in a similar situation where my ex boyfriend did not put enough effort in and that was the reason we broke up.

I hope you are feeling okay - honestly I'm feeling great right now. One of my main sources of anxiety was that he was pulling away/didn't want me anymore and now that he's gone I don't have that extra worry in my head and I can focus on what I want in a person.

I would block him if you feel it's difficult to not contact him, because unblocking someone to break no contact is a reminder that you shouldn't be contacting him in the first place!

Take it from me. I was in contact with an ex for 3 years. It doesn’t get any easier, so it’s better to do it sooner rather than later. It was such a waste of time, but I’d try to rationalize that I wasn’t jealous or that we still had a friendship. It stopped me from moving on- I had no relationships within that time and wasted some of the best years of my life. As soon as I blocked him, I moved on and met a wonderful young European guy within a few weeks who was the complete opposite of my dusty ex.

He’s not ur friend. He couldn’t give you what you wanted. There’s no purpose in having him around. Even if he’s a good guy, there’s no point. I don’t keep my old neighbors from 7 years ago online, because what they do now is irrelevant. I feel the same way about past romantic prospects. Look forward, not backwards.
