This is such a great argument for why “don’t bring up what happened in the past” is such bull. Men just wait for you to calm down so they can brush everything under the rug, and then do the exact same thing again. LVM truly do not care about their partners.

My anusive narc ex pulled this with me CONSTANTLY. PreFDS and in a trauma bond with him, I was constantly begging him to stop calling me names and yelling at me and abusing me. When he kept repeating over and over the same abuse, he got angrier and angrier that he thought I kept bringing it up and reminding him how shitty he was and how he hasn’t changed. Well, DUH.

I’m now in a wonderful healthy relationship where communication from his side is endlessly patient, loving, listening, and proactively reassuring. I only have to state my boundaries ONCE and it is respected. My current relationship, my man will physically feel ill if he even thinks he has upset me in any way or made me feel uncomfortable.

The differences are night and day.
