I have just turned 20. I grew up having a lot of issues with my dad, and no mother figure to look up to. I grew up thinking it was normal to need to beg for attention, to be cleaning up after them, and trying my hardest to prove myself. (My dad and I have since made up the past two years. That may also have something to do with this)

I chased after men for validation for years. I was desperate for any sort of affection, and was totally blind to how predatory, abusive, and how in general LV these people were. Especially for my age at the time, and even now. If he was having a bad day, it was MY fault and I had to make it better. I was a therapist, a maid, and a scapegoat for shitty behavior on behalf of predators, and my most recent “serious” relationship with a man child.

I found this sub a few months ago. I had just left my 2.5 year relationship with a LVM, and I thought it was strange I felt no remorse over it. It wasn’t an easy decision (dude basically brainwashed me with his narcissistic behavior) but for whatever reason, I woke up one day and snapped. walked out three days later and i’m so grateful I did.

Then I remembered this sub existed. I finally didn’t feel alone. I don’t feel like it’s all my fault, im not alone in my experiences and I know I DESERVE what my standards are now set at. We don’t have to put up with anyone’s bullshit. Once you turn to look inwards and truly appreciate yourself for what you are as a woman, you will never go back. I’ve never felt this empowered in my entire life.

I will never settle again. They should be chasing after US. I am done providing for parasites with the emotional intelligence of a goldfish. Queen, if you are doubting yourself and have feelings of selfishness about anything you don’t feel is right, YOU ARE JUSTIFIED ON PRINCIPLE. Once you value yourself, people show their true colors. You will attract what you put out into the world. Let them beg.
