About 6 weeks ago I posted here about personal reasons to be against porn in a relationship: https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/gavpps/ladies_lets_talk_about_porn_in_a_relationship/ . Thanks to all of you and r/PornFreeRelationships, I found the courage to take a stand for my convictions, so shortly after posting, I sat him down and asked him point blank if he used porn and he actually told the truth---that yes, he did (and that he has stopped periodically in the past). Although I didn't like this answer, it was the truth, which was what I was seeking and it was my own fault for having not established this boundary long ago. (I discovered FDS right as we started dating 8 months ago and wasn't strong enough at the time to realize that this would be a deal breaker).

Prepared to walk away completely from our relationship, I asked him if he could stop, to which he said he would and that he understood where I was coming from since he would not be okay with me getting off to images of giant cocks. He listened to me, respected my decision, and not once tried to justify his behavior.

It's been about 6 weeks since our conversation and he appears to be keeping his word and has told me he does not use porn, and I believe him because he has proven to be a man of integrity in all other areas of his life. Could he still be lying? Absolutely, but not being able to know every action a person takes is just part of being in a relationship. (That's not to say you shouldn't be diligent in looking for lies or turning a blind eye to red flags). Even if it were true that he hasn't kept his word, it at least feels good to take a stand for myself and what I will not tolerate.
