Whew I never caught those lyrics but that's fucked up. Not a tinfoil hat wearer but things like this make it hard not to believe those conspiracy theories about pop culture being led by an agenda to dumb us down and turn us into depraved, sex crazed, super divided idiots so some messiah can take over.

For me WAP is not empowering in any way. However, I also don't agree with the way Cardi B and Megan were attacked (mainly by men) for making a sexually explicit song yet men rapping about much worse subjects get a pass.

Disgusting trash. Women "singing" about how men want us to want to have sex. They're really setting women, (WOC in particular), back, it's so harmful. I can't be friends with or respect anyone thay suggests otherwise.

When WAP first came out I heard that it stood for Wet Ass Pussy and I saw everyone praising it on Twitter for being so empowering. I hadn't actually heard the song yet or seen the lyrics so I thought "Oh this is going to be a song about how women do enjoy sex and get sexually aroused as well. That's good!" Because there's still people out there who see sex as something that is done TO a woman, not something we can actually enjoy. So I went into it with positive expectations.

Then I actually sat down and listened to the song and I was so disappointed. Yet another song glorifying abusive, male-pandering sexual activities like BDSM. Also "there's some whores in this house"? I get there's women out there who like to reclaim derogatory terms about us but the term whore along with all the other violent lyrics makes me so uncomfortable. HOW is this empowering?
