What are your thoughts on the probationary stage of dating?

In those 2 weeks you’ve probably had 2 dates, seems a bit excessive to cut someone out because they are playing the field after only knowing you such a short period of time

I'd give a probationary stage of 3 months.

Obviously, if you say you're exclusive before that and he isn't, then cut it. You'll learn a lot about a person in the first couple of months. 2 weeks feels way too short.

I think it depends. If you catch him texting someone “after 2 weeks in a committed relationship” you have you honestly assess if he’s running game on you or if you’re being insecure in a place where you need to learn to not be insecure. i.e. if the person he is texting is just a friend who happens to be female.

If you’ve gone 3 months of casual dating, once you are in a relationship it should be obvious what the rules are (monogamy). Did you date for a while before these two weeks?

What is your situation exactly? I think this is a hard question to answer.

The probationary period is the first 2 years. That's when he should be trying to court you the hardest.

My rules are this. You get 3 chances per year to fuck it up. On the fourth offense, you're gone and you mean it. Some offenses (cheating, stealing, disgusting, embarrassing, humiliating behaviors) are a 1 and done. You wait for him to go to work, pack everything and disappear from his life, and block him from everything.
