This is EXACTLY why I tell women not to initiate first. Don't waste your time, sis, he's not that into you.

70% of the "work" of dating as a woman is about eliminating unqualified men. Unqualified men are:

Men who are "not that into you". These men will eventually leave you for a woman who they ARE into. Maybe they abandon you after 1 week. Maybe it's 1 month. Maybe they abandon you after a decade, 3 kids later, and you get to decide how much of your time they waste and how badly they hurt you :(. If they're not that into you, they'll ask to go dutch (because they don't want to waste money dating someone they don't see a future with), and string you along. It's all a waste of time, and you've got to ghost these moids at the 1 date or 1 week stage as opposed to 10 years later, after 3 kids and an expensive divorce.
Men who are "lifelong bachelors" or "stringers" as described by John Molloy in his book "why men marry some women and not others" ( https://www.blendedandblack.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/why-men-marry-some-women-and-not-others.pdf ). These are men who don't want to marry ANYONE, EVER. They do want to get laid so they might lie and string you along, and if you can't get a direct, clear answer, leave. You're wasting your time.
Manchildren, losers, unemployed/underemployed men, criminals, drug addicts, project men, and men who are abusive. These men are bad deals, period. They're not financially, mentally, emotionally, or physically prepared to court you, properly, and they're too unstable to build a life with. Men need to come to you COMPLETE, and if he's not?? He needs to go fix his life and then come back after its fixed, if you're available.
ALL MEN who don't want to do the work of courting you, and some men who do the work of courting you and then "slowly fade" the level of effort in the relationship. He's doing that because he's hoping he's got you "hooked" and he can "relax" without you disappearing. NOPE. GHOST HIS ASS IMMEDIATELY sis, NOBODY has time for that.

This is just a short list. It's very important for you to ghost these types of moids ASAP, because every single second spent with a worthless moid, is a second not spent with a moid who is completely into you. You don't want to waste time in life, especially not with a loser who treats you like garbage when you can have someone else who treats you like you're the light of his life. Nah, sis.

I know the focus is on the guy's response, but I can't help but comment on what /u/reddituser39682 said.

What I like about this sub is that you guys don't advocate chasing a man or making the first move. I wish I knew that before I asked out a guy I liked. Same thing the user talked about was going to happen to me. I gave him all the power and he wielded it on our first date by setting his own standards for our arrangement - he would be non-monogamous and emotionally unavailable and his attitude was like "take it or leave it"

I felt so disrespected. The thing is, this guy was intimidated by me when we first met (I have a better career and he even mentioned that I was smarter than him at one point). His tone of voice and mannerisms completely changed once I told him I liked him. He was the one with the power and he knew it.

What a waste of time. It does work for some girls - the very attractive/socially adept ones perhaps? But if you're already having trouble attracting guys, it's definitely not a good idea.

Men really do believe their penises are their greatest gift to women. They’re like a cat who’s just killed a smaller animal.
