Yeh, but I studied crime, its usually that people assume it's much higher and yeh it can be, but it's also not as bad as you would think. Overall, crime has gone down a lot. Interpersonal violent crime is quite a small percentage of crime overall and violent crimes committed by a stranger are even moreso.

Potentially over a million and one million people are different but not all different. Let's say every year 500,000 people get trafficked. Where are they coming from? Where are they going?

How can we not know about 500,000 of anything happening in a country? Sure the states is big but that means in the last 5 years (100,000 a year) that many children have gone missing? That's a lot of kids. How can we lose track of 500,000 kids? I can't even get onto a plane without showing my passport and these guys are trafficking a city worth of children every 5y?

It's not saying that if the number is less that I care less, but it just don't know how inflated numbers really help except to purpetuate bad myths and scare little kids. It's 2021! I deserve real numbers so then we could maybe realize hey, actually all these people are missing are actually suffering from poverty or lack of social networks. We could help improve social welfare and it would help fix this problem.
