I just saw this on Instagram and was hoping someone would post it here.

Childbirth is dangerous, and a mask like this makes it difficult to breathe, communicate verbally and have your expression be read. It is not only extremely dangerous for the mother but the baby as well.

LVM priorities right there. Getting likes on the gram is more important than being present and concerned about the wellbeing of his wife, who is most definitely in the most excruciating pain of her life and bringing new life into the world.

This is just a sick joke. The woman in the picture is wearing a hospital gown, so I assume this wasn't a home birth. I doubt the hospital staff would have allowed this, it isn't safe. A laboring woman needs to be able to breathe and needs to be able to communicate with the people helping her.

As a woman who has given birth to 2 children, I can assure you, there is no way this was worn for anything more than a picture as mentioned above.

I'd like to know how many people who are offended have actually had children? Because I think anyone who has, would see the reality. It won't have been kept on for the birth - not a cat in hell's chance. The man is in the minority in that situation. She's well in on the joke and they probably have a really good relationship with a lot of humour. I tend to find rather than this being a humiliation attempt that couples with this type of humour live very healthy relationships and that he will do as much to help as she does and dote on her.
