I think this is a common problem when the word equality is used and thrown around so frequently, it connotes only equal rights for women and women only, and completely ignoring the fact that many men and boys are underprivileged and disadvantaged and in need of help attaining equality. Yet feminists so often rail about how men are already privileged and have their rights and their usual diatribe. I'm all for genuine equality for both males and females, ensuring both have the same rights and opportunities, that neither is ever given special or preferential treatment just based on their gender. Which is something unfortunately all too common soon, women being promoted at the expense of men, which creates inequality. The fact that men make up the majority of murder and suicide victims, most homeless are men, nearly all combat and war-time deaths are male, that boys struggle much more in schools compared to girls, etc. shows males still face their share of inequality that badly needs to be rectified. Not to mention the issue of due process with accusations of abuse or sexual assault, which is an incredibly serious issue and yet feminists with their usual "believe women" mantra will always shout it down.

I guess I just felt the need to rant about this in a more productive way after seeing an ad for Women In Film on the back of a magazine at work today that promoted equality for women filmmakers in the movie industry, and as usual neglecting the fact that men also struggle with inequality. I'm tired of the word equality being used to only represent women, when it then becomes pandering and favoritism. That's why I picked the misandry flair, because all too often, we not only see this kind of blatant gender favoritism and pandering towards only women, but it's often used to promote more anti-male hate and downplay male issues.
