An older but still good article. The writer of it hits the nail on the head. It's always so annoying to hear feminists screaming "smash the patriarchy!" or seeing them blame things on the patriarchy when it's quite obvious and clear as day such a patriarchy is non-existant. To me it's just as asinine and absurd as the nonsense the Right believes about there being a deep state or liberal media when those are non-existant too, and just a way to shift blame or avoid responsibility altogether or ignore the actual underlying causes of certain problems.

There was a time women were underprivileged and disadvantaged for sure, but it wasn't due to the existantance of a mythical patriarchy that seeks to oppress all women. It's hard to fathom how such a construct exists in the 21st century Western world where women have it so good and have so much in the way of equal rights. Maybe in third-world countries that are behind on the times but definitely not here in the Western world. And then blaming real problems and issues on the patriarchy is such a cop-out. I lost so much respect for Greta Thunberg when she blamed climate change on the patriarchy. Really? Blaming something very real, serious and outright life-threatening like climate change on a non-existant patriarchy that exists only in the mind of delusional modern feminists with a victim complex?

Thought I'd share this article. I'm so sick of seeing the term patriarchy thrown around so much and it irritates me as much as hearing about things like rape culture, the deep state or liberal media. What do all of these things have in common? They're fictional and a way of denying accountability.
