MEnslib might be developing empahty, but the mods area active as ever. So many deleted comments, with nary a reason given why.

Remember people, you can post all you want on menslib, but there'S a silent gestapo that will come for you if you stray from the ideological line, they'll delete your comments with no warning or reason given, and if you stray twice you're banned. Oh and if you try and bring attention to this fact you'll also be banned.

Menslib is showing empathy here because there'S no clear clash between men's issues and feminism. That's it. Menslib is a feminist sub first, defending women and feminism second, and dealing with men's issues being a distant third when it doesn't conflict with the prior 2.

It's good that they're seeing how messed up this particular situation is, thank goodness they're normal moral human beings, but none of that matters the moment women or feminism enters the picture, because then men's issues become a distant 3rd priority again, and the mod-stapo will delete anyone who dares deviate from accepted speech.

I wonder if the existence of this sub will force them to clean up their act, or if they'll just double down on their current strategy of gaslighting men.

I am surprising about menslib and big joel calling out this nonsense of "men have to sacrifice themselves for women", i never thought i will see progressives not bashing men cause that is what they always do hence the existence of r/leftwingmaleadvocates.

It will be great if progressives were more open to men's issues instead of constantly demonizing us, i specially wish they stopped bashing white men, they are literally making it easier for the alt right recruits.

MensLib is pretty staunchly against traditional gender roles, at least in theory. I'm not surprised at all they're talking about this.

Yes I read that thread and agree with a lot of it. I used to lurk over there for a long time until I just couldn't stand it anymore. I agree with a lot of what they're saying, and I suppose I can't say I'm surprised. This doesn't really fall under a men vs women/feminists vs men's rights area, more of a generalized sense of how men are treated and viewed, so I'm confident that they will have their heads firmly on straight when handling it.

And to be honest, anything will be better than some of what I've seen about that picture, including the many posts actually praising male disposability and the boy for knowing his so-called place in the world at an early age. Makes me want to take a shower.

Isn't this reinforcing the idea that what it takes to be a man is to be ready to give your life to someone else? Am I wrong to think that there's something really wrong in seeing a "man" in a child, due to the fact that he was willing to give his life for his sister?

Personally I see it as an acknowledgement of the role of men in society, it is an acknowledgement of the disposability of men. Even at that young age that boy is expected to potentially give up his life for his sister. Not because he is less likely to die, not because he is older, not because he is stronger. Just because he is a a boy.
