Ok so i usually never post here because i feel like i never need to post but i was on this subreddit called r/amiwrong and the blatant bias against men really disturbed me. You guys can comb through my recent replies to see what im talking about but when guys were clearly in the right it would always feel like people would be fabricating the most absurd points to paint him as the bad guy or to make him seem much worse than reality -> these would be the top replies too. I'll give you guys some examples of posts amd where i had a problem:

  1. Post about a woman who made more than her partner who worked minimum wage while she made 70k+ a year, he didnt have any ambitions whatsoever and didnt want to better his position, she wanted to leave him to be with a more financially suitable partner. My issue? She was completely in the right for wanting to leave but throughout the whole post she was demonizing him by calling him a loser and how she felt, for no reason at all, that hes mooching off of her when in reality he was probably just living his life in a way that would make him the happiest that he can be, there's nothing wrong with not having ambition because at the end of the day you're only working for your own happiness and if you cant find or cant afford a career that will make you happy then why bother making yourself more miserable? This was a man she loved that shes throwing to the dogs so easily, how can you treat someone you loved so harshly over issues that you should have taken into account before getting in a relationship with him? She's complaining about something she saw coming, not only that but shes insulting him so personally even though she was at fault, i felt awful for him because its ok that she wants to find someone else but to actually insult him like that was hard to read. He shouldn't be judged for living his life his way, hes already going through his own demons, why make him feel bad for having them?

  2. This man was trying to surprise his wife by dropping his towel but she ignores him by staying on her phone. My issue? Everyone in the thread seemed to demonize him by saying that he was weird for wanting attention even though the problem was that she literally neglected her partner to look at her phone...they even tried to body shame him lightly and painted the situation as her being in the right but how can you possibly humiliate your partner by ignoring them like that ? How can that even be defended? Everyone was acting like his attempts at trying to spice things up didn't mean anything special but imagine talking about a woman the exact same way....

  3. Man's (SAHD) wife sexually neglects him and might have a porn addiction and this stresses him out. Issue? People were so quick to oulll doubke standards on him like wondering if he, as a SAHD, was putting in enough effort, people were quite literally fabricating issues like female ed to support the woman's neglect, even supprted the idea that she meeds to be aroused by other men before she can be aroused by him. No-one took his struggles as a SAHD who also ubers from time to time into account at all.

Things like that are bad as they plant an idea that when things like that happen to you, you shouldn't be mad about it whatsoever and that theyre not bad things at all. It feels like gaslighting in a way because all of those comments saying the things that im complaining about were the popular opinions
