About the maternity testing in France, I have pointed out several time that it's much more subtle than that, and I'm not entirely convinced that feminism is to blame. Although I'm no expert in the law, I am French, a'd have been able to dig around a bit into the various justification for the law. Take what I will say with a grain of salt, but please consider it at least.

The idea is that nobody can be forced to take a DNA test, that a DNA test can only be performed on the demand of a court, as a way to protect individuals, and their data, as well as concerns about the reliability of tests going through non-officiel channels where proper procedure are certified.

Overall, it looks more like a case of courts being late compared to technology than anything else.

There is an aspect of "protecting families" which has vibes of biological parenthood doesn't matter, but it's only one element in many, and not necessarily the most prominent.

It needs to be updated since most of these links add broken also the sources need to come from more reputable sources such as government data or peer review research.
