I guess this is just an incoherent rambling of mine but I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same way....

It feels like the modern take for men in relationships is to get our kicks from caring about the other person (mainly women) as far as relationships go. It feels like so much of the burden is on me and the media only shows "healthy" relationships as a man overwhelmingly caring about his female partner and going out of his way to show that he cares that the way to male satisfaction and self-esteem in a relationship must stem from caring about someone else.

Don't get me wrong, I love caring about the other person in a relationship and understand that's part of what makes it healthy, but we see so little of men being understood and valued for how they are that sometimes it makes me wonder if I'd have rather been born a woman because I feel so selfish wanting to be cared and doted on. So glad I'm into guys as well otherwise I feel like I'd be wrecked as far as my hope for value in a relationship goes
