There's a saying "Where Hollywood goes--society follows..." Robin Williams was a nobody in 1973 and then shot to stardom with his show Mork and Mindy--then never looked back. To say the guy was funny and talented would be an understatement. We can honour him by learning from his mistakes (of not only getting married...but doing so two more times after the first divorce). When you're walking through a minefield...when one guy gets blown up, you stop assess the situation and 9/10 times go back the way you came and look for a safer route to your destination. Our destination is happiness and a life of fulfillment. We are "sold" on the idea that we men cannot be happy or fulfilled unless we're in a committed relationship with a woman, with kids, etc...As those of us who are divorced can tell you--it's a bunch of BS. Even as I look at my parents, who have been married for 53 years...I can see my mom belittling my dad (he'll be 77 in Dec)...because he's sickly now (diabetes, heart problems, goes to dialysis every other day, etc). The man worked his whole life to give her a gorgeous mini-mansion (6 bedrms, 4 bathrooms) that overlooks a very scenic park, raise their four kids (and send them all to university), and provide all the perqs like nice vacations, travel, etc. I have seen pics of my mom when they first got married and objectively speaking she was very easy on the eyes--even after her first three kids she kept her figure. But as I listen to her berate my dad when he says it hurts him to do some physical thing--I think that having a woman in one's life (especially as one gets older) is a real losing situation. I got divorce raped ($300k it cost me). Young men...don't get married. You can follow your biological drive by pumping and dumping or go monk mode....whatever your choice...do not shackle yourself to one specific woman. It doesn't take long before "the bloom is off the rose" (for her and for you).

Some enterprising third-world dictator/government could create his own Hollywood East (or West). No extradition treaty/legal agreements with the U.S. and other English speaking countries.

Agree to give shelter to all would-be divorce rapees. Bring your money to my country, minimal taxes and protection from the IRS, family courts and greedy ex-wives.

Imagine how fast the place would fill up with actors, millionaire business types and ex pro athletes.

"Comedy does come from a dark place." That really makes me appreciate him. He was one of the only actors I liked. (I don't care much for movies) Occasionally I think about how great he was and the hell he lived through. I hope he found peace.
