It's my own damn fault. IDK what happened. It just unconsciously happened really.

I was walking by a female coworkers I was cordial with and gave her a good morning tap on the shoulder and said good morning as a walked by. Physical contact lasted all of 1/2 a second. I didn't even think about it, I just do it to all my coworkers.

She freaked the fuck out. She literally jumped (idk how the woman is 5'2 and ~300lbs.) and launched into a tirade about not touching her for like 30 seconds. I looked like a deer in a head light because I hadn't processed that I had even touched her. When things calmed down my supervisor (I'm convinced is MGTOW, he is 36, no kids no wife no girlfriend, he's gotten 5 promotions in a year and a half since he started and is being promoted AGAIN) told me to be careful around female employees. Duly noted.

This was yesterday and I'm noticing how much harder not being on autopilot is. I can hardly relax with her around because we work the same shifts.

I'm technically in a probationary period because I just started this job. Supervisor said the incident won't make a difference to him but to be careful around her and women generally. No company wants a #metoo moment right now.

I think I'm going to look for a new job just in case.
