Hearing dating stories of my mid to early gen X uncles have made me realize how shitty the current generation of men have it. Under these conditions marriage and relationships become a big joke. I know women have always been like this, but its amazing how much social media has magnified shitty parisitical female behavior. Blue pilled sheep in my country will continue to blame economics or sexist men for low marriage rates, despite the fact that 40 years ago, more than twice as many people got married, during a time when the poverty rate was triple than today and men these days are less sexist and more accepting of non traditional gender roles. All you have to do is look at the dating and sexual habits of the current generation of women to see why marriage rates have dipped below depression levels. But this is taboo to say in the public sphere.

My belief has always been that people's level of faithfulness and commitment to a relationship is highly correlated to the options they have. That doesn't (necessarily) mean that everyone is going to go and cheat with the first other person who shows interest, but given enough available options you have to imagine that the law of averages will play out.

Think about it this way: you're a reasonably attractive woman on Tinder. With a tap and a few swipes you can have a lineup of people at your door clawing over one another to get to you. With that availability of options what incentive would there be to stay committed to anyone?? Once the excitement and novelty of one person wears off, just discard them like an old pair of jeans and move on to the next.

There are checks and balances in place to help -- morality, obligation, conscientiousness, empathy, shame, etc... but they are increasingly becoming a poor match for the meat market that is online dating and a culture that increasingly celebrates how "liberating" and "empowering" it is to do that.

For me this is actually one of those dark and depressing realizations that changes my view of life. It’s akin to the time you learned mom and dad were going to die one day. Remember how that made you feel? Remember how you felt numb and in a haze of grey for a while? That’s how I felt and still feel after I learned that the sexual marketplace is so terribly skewed.

Women can get dick anytime they want. Let’s be honest, anyone, male or female, can get dick. But hell, women can even get pussy pretty easily. But men getting pussy is so fucking hard it’s almost evil that we’re living as these beings who are nearly constantly in the throes of sexual frustration.

It’s a god damned farce. That’s what it is. God is laughing at us. Give the male an insatiable sex drive for the female but make the female libido so low towards the male that it is nearly nonexistent in many cases. That’s real life and it’s hard to accept sometimes. It’s hard to accept that for many men, pussy is a dream but for most women, dick is a choice, and boy do they have a lot to choose from.

This was one of the initial red pills that I had to swallow, which is the ease with which women can get any kind of dick they want whenever they want. This might sound incel-ish, but when I was still a simp I couldn't figure out why that whole "there's someone for everyone" bullshit wasn't working for me.

That's when it dawned on me what a crock of shit monogamy is and always has been. I realized that, yes, from a statistical point of view, there is someone for everyone. The problem? Your "someone" has way more options than you do. They could settle down with you, but why would they? She can literally have a dozen men speeding over to her house from two states away at the mere suggestion that she would put out for them. That's why incels and hopeless simps (like I used to be) exist, they simply can't compete with the dozens of options even average women have at their fingertips. This was the first half of the realization.

The second half was when I started thinking about this in terms of all relationships of the past. I thought about your average 1800s man and his wife, and how they were very much exclusive to each other. But, this isn't entirely true. We live in a society where women can do whatever they please, and with this privilege they show us that they'll bounce between dudes like a slutty pinball if given half a chance. So, my simp self thought, if their natural state is the exact opposite of monogamy, then that must mean that what we saw of relationships back in the day wasn't actual monogamy. We must have been seeing women who simply couldn't do what they would absolutely do if allowed. Society, their friends and family, they all shunned such behavior, and there wasn't any legal leg for them to stand on if they wanted to take everything a man had and leave him with nothing (well, I guess they could have just poisoned his drink or something).

This really bugged me for a while. I came to terms with the fact that basically all of the advice tradcons had given me throughout my younger years was nothing but lies, that the majority of relationships from the past that looked "perfect" from the outside were actually just matters of convenience where the woman wasn't able to slut it up.

It was a disappointing realization to be sure.

(Also, to be clear, we had a lot of problems in society throughout the past, so when I talk about "the old days" I don't want to make them sound like a golden age that is superior to the modern era. I'm exclusively talking about the dynamic between men and women in relationships.)

I disagree. This concept might be true when women and men are young (<30yo) and none wants a family.

But if we take into account that many women wants commitment and a stable environment to raise a family, well then I believe it's harder for women to find a decent catch.

Yes, technically women can get sex easier than men, but after some point in their life they seek something more than sex and that's where it gets actually easier for men to walk away than women.
