Unfortunately that's EVERY show on network television. The scientific tests show again and again that, no matter how much us intelligent people hate it, shows that have a "laugh track" are perceived as "more funny."
It also lets the stupid people / women know when a joke was told and thus to laugh.
I agree, one of the worst shows on television.

I recall Netflix having tried a laugh track sitcom, and the lash back by the subscriber base was immense. That is new media. Only in old media there is still a large audience for laugh track sitcoms, though they've been on a decline as well. And the industry knows that the old media audience are generally more low educated retards anyway, hence they prefer advertising there.

Tried having? The Ranch is on season 6 and has a laugh track. Fuller House is one of Netflix's most popular shows and has live audience laughter. Netflix has many other sitcoms and continues to develop more sitcoms that include audience laughter.

Actually watched a very interesting documentry on the topic. There used to be just one dude in town and it was a huge analog machine in the 60s to start adding laugh tracks. Now his family does most of it still because of chronyism, but it's just a real interesting documentary.
Anyway, it's been going on forever.

They would supplement the laughter even in a live studio audience. In order to get the shows to move faster they would actually edit all the laughter. Extend it if an actor forgot his line and they didn't get a reshoot, add it if a joke didn't go over well and you want to simulate a laugh, amplify it if you wanted a bigger laugh, etc.
It's all really interesting stuff. I suggest if you're more interested you search out the documentary that I watched on the topic.
You're right though, most of it did come about by switching to single-camera and smaller studios that couldn't fit a whole audience.

yeah some chick I was pounding a year or so ago was all "OMG this show is great - you gotta watch it!". About 5 minutes in, I thought to myself "WTF - this sux" and at the first commercial break, I asked her (after several laugh-track fails) "when does this get funny?"
It's almost a measuring stick now. If someone claims this is a great, funny show, it's a bit of a red flag for me that that person is probably kinda stupid.

There's literally a moment in the series where she even admits it. She gets jealous of him with another woman even though she's rejected him and is riding other guys dicks. She has a moment of realisation but ultimately decides to ruin what he has going on with another woman because she doesn't care that what she's doing is evil.

I have to disagree. Friends is funny; it has some good actors and good comedy writing. It is incredibly blue pill, ESPECIALLY the primary romantic plot, but if you look past that there is some decent comedy there.
The problem is that all these sitcoms show and encourage blue pill behaviour. Friends is one of the best of all time of a bad genre, that's all.
If it's any consolation the male actors themselves seem kind of red pill in real life, especially Matt Perry (the guy who played Chandler).
Also Joey is kind of red pill. Just fucks women constantly and never settles down. He gets oneitis from time to time due to the writers trying to change him up a bit, but most of the time he's just an alpha out there slaying pussy and he's definitely the happiest and most content character. Every guy wants to be Joey but they end up like Ross and Chandler.

Joey was definitely red pill. Some of those old episodes can still make me laugh, like Ross and his leather pants episode, or the beach episode when Monica gets stung by a sting ray and the "cure" is Chandler pissing on her, or the one when Rachel convinces Ross's girlfriend to shave her head bald, or the time Ross gets his teeth whitened and they glow in the dark... and many others... hilarious

If your parents and friends enable you too much you will not strive to succeed. My parents had way too many demands on me but I'm thankful for that. I hated it growing up but today I'm very successful.
The problems with many parents today is they don't think they should demand stuff from their kids and put no pressure on them. I've seen so many times how people who are really successful (doctors, engineers etc) get kids who work shit jobs and don't educate themselves because the parents think anything the kids do is good.
And this is especially true about women. My sister got off easy and she is a fucking trainwreck. I hate to say it but despite my shitty upbringing (alcoholism, violence) me and my brother are doing really well for ourselves and our sister who had no demands on her is sleeping with her boss and is overall a really shitty person (cheating, not paying child support to her ex, not buying anything to her kid).
I feel so sorry for her kid.
