I was a gun owner in the US… used to miss it… now I realize it wasn’t that big a deal. Reality is I’m far more free here in a “socialist” country than I ever was in the US… and if you do get married here the family law isn’t nuts… they really do practice gender equality (and living in it I can tell you American women are not going to want truly gender equal laws… you have to pull your own weight, Dutch women pay for half the dates, holidays, etc)

Odd as I got divorced here after 4 years married. I made 6 figures, wife was in med school. She got zero. I’ve got a few Dutch dude friends who are actually getting money from their spouse. After being divorced in both the US and here I can say at least in my case the formulas here are far more gender neutral. Having said that I’d still recommend the beat path is don’t get married if there’s a significant disparity in income (or will be). This applies to men and women

Do you think it's worth immigrating to Netherlands from the US if you have money? The US is getting really messed up now days. But, I am kind of wary of the 3rd world emigrants issues in Europe, though.

Well as someone that lives here the immigrant issue is way overblown… some people cause problems… some are citizens some are immigrants. One thing I do have to say about the high taxes (though with my business It ends up being roughly the same as Fed+state) is I don’t mind that everyone has a basic net (including myself, but not really an issue). Things just hum along and in general folks aren’t stressed about the things folks are in the US. As a result over 10 years your world view changes. Sure I miss the ease of shopping, crazy discounts, fast casual dining and some other minor things.
Net: If you’re fixed on a specific world view then maybe NL is not the place… if you’re pragmatic and willing to question and adapt is your kind of place.
Oh and the tall, beautiful Dutch gals that don’t play games. Wow… that wouldn’t give you time time of day in the US. And just tell you they’re going to have sex with you so relax and let’s not go anywhere expensive (and split the bill). Direct and down to earth.

I'm concerned since you appear to be selling your country as some sanctuary where genders magically treat each other with fairness, particularly the women.
It's not perfect anywhere (and let's face it for either gender)... but it's far better than the US...
