Even in my simp/white knight days, I always thought weddings were a rip off. Just for people to show off. I always knew jewellery was a scam especially wedding rings. Always knew child support was corrupt, and that only women could "opt out" of parenthood.

I joined the military when I was 17 and was married to a dependapotomus by the time I was 19. I never ran into a single person while I was in who had a positive outlook on marriage. It was over by the time I was 21 and she had taken me to the cleaners while I was deployed.

That was the point in my life where I said never again. I've been MGTOW for years because of that early experience, but never knew the community existed until a couple of years ago.

In the early nineties, after a breakup with a live-in girlfriend, I went MGTOW. I was in my mid-thirties. I got into shape. Women started to pay a lot of attention to me (some funny stories here). I did not reciprocate. I held my own for four years, but started to crack. Loneliness and social pressure. Then met the Ms. Wrong in NYC and got married. Divorced three years later. Then married again. Single mom (multiple kids). Even worse. Then divorced again. Been alone for about 10 years.

I'm grateful for the experiences I had because I can see it from multiple perspectives now: Single/Married. Childless/Parent.

But if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't.

Biggest lesson here: MGTOW today is not a guarantee of MGTOW tomorrow. Each day requires renewal of the commitment to yourself. Don't let up. Don't give in. Be alive. Be yourself. Be happy and fulfilled. Embrace the struggle to overcome your weaknesses. Celebrate your strengths and improve upon them. Attack your circumstances with everything you have. Defend your freedom from the ambitions of others. Love that which you are.

I'm in my sixties and I've been pretty solidly MGTOW since my late thirties. For me it was mostly about not wanting any kids and the whole boring married life style.

Not sure if I’d call it MGTOW in the past but I have always been comfortable alone. I don’t mind living alone, dining out alone, going on a trip alone. Sure, it’s nice to have company sometimes but I’m content doing most things alone. I’ve never been that interested in sex. It feels great, of course but to me it’s like chicken fingers. If you said to me I can never eat another chicken finger in my life, id be fine with it. If you said I’d never have sex again, I’d be fine with that too. Lots of ways to fulfill that biological function without involving women. I got burned hard after a seventeen year marriage and as I’ve said on here before, when a marriage is working, there’s nothing better. But when it’s not, theres nothing worse. And for too many of them simply don’t work out. And that’s why I’m going my own way.

When I broke up with my only long term relationshit (2 yrs, broke up, back together for 4 more yrs) we had decided to stay in touch, be friendly and probably get back together a few years down the line when we had both got our shit together. Essentially we agreed to be each other’s backup plans if neither of us found anyone better. I was totally fine with how everything ended, to be honest I was sick of her, bored of fucking her and the relationship had run its course, I thought overall it had been a pretty successful endeavour and it was a nice clean break (so I thought). I had the memories and I had a girl who I could keep in my back pocket for a rainy day. Someone who would always be there for me. She had become my best friend and confidant over the years and I trusted her. Then I found out she had been cheating on me with multiple guys. On top of that she was banging a new guy literally the same day I broke up with her. Meanwhile still stringing me along telling me not to fuck any girls cause “we might get back together” and her lying to me for months saying she “hasn’t started dating anyone new”. Oh, and on top of that then she moved in with her betabuxbob plan b guy a mere three months after me and her ended. Lol. I was totally shellshocked and devastated. I went from being totally fine with the breakup to having the last six years of my life and a major part of my identity crumbling to dust. Also lost a so called best friend in the process and experienced the worst betrayal possible by the one person who I let get closer to me than anyone ever will.

Anyways I call her up one last time to get closure, find out once and for all the truth of all the shit she did, and just have one last goodbye with my baby girl and tell her to never contact me again. This was stupid and in hindsight I should have just ghosted her, but atleast it gave me some insight into female nature. First of all, she still wouldn’t admit to anything, deny deny deny, play dumb, until I finally revealed that I knew 100% n had proof. And even after that, she still tried to hide some other shit she’d done, and tried to deny some stuff that I was 80% sure about which became 100% once I heard her pathetic lies and attempts to deny. And I guarantee there was still more stuff which she still never told me. I played the: “just tell me everything, I deserve to know the truth and we’re never getting back together or even going to see or speak to each other again so it’s the least you can do. It’s not like you have anything to gain by hiding it, I already know so much.” But I guarantee she still kept some secrets. Next thing that was fucked up was she never apologized or had any remorse. Her remorse was strictly cause she got caught and cause she was losing her backup plan Chad forever. It was a selfish remorse. I say “so that’s it you don’t have anything to say to me” and she goes “sorry? I guess?” Like she was legit confused that I expected some kindof human decency from this person I’d loved and done everything for for the past 6 years. Anyway, she tells me she hopes I find that one girl who will make me happy, and I laughed and told her I’m never gona have a girlfriend again, “not like wat we had, Ive learned my lesson, from now on I’m just gona fuck girls”. That was my mgtow moment, where I became mgtow without knowing it. Since then I’ve never had a gf and have only fucked girls.

What can we learn from this fiasco? Awalt.

Even when caught red handed dead to rights they will still deny and pathologically lie, even if there is nothing to gain from those lies. Understand and internalize this red pill, females are the ULTIMATE deceivers, they lie as easily as they breathe and they will take their secrets to the grave. Their reputation is EVERYTHING, they care so much what other people think, preserving their good girl image is like life and death for them. Part of it is also just for fun, they get a sick pleasure from duping men (who they hate for being superior). They are spoiled brat children who get off on tricking us. Also, in their mind, it’s our fault for falling for their lies, they lie to us as a shittest, and if we fall for it, it shows her that she has the power to manipulate us.

They have zero remorse or empathy. None. And they find it confusing that us men would expect her to have any. It’s a genuine confusion. I think the reasons for this are multifaceted. One is that they see us as “the big strong man” and it doesn’t compute in their brain that we can be hurt by a silly little girl. Next, if we allow ourselves to be hurt by a silly little girl, then in her mind we aren’t a “real man” and therefore we’re worthless. So in her mind: either I’m a real man and so it makes no sense that I’d be hurt and expect an apology OR I’m a weak man therefore worthless so why would she feel bad about hurting me and say sorry. This is where the “sorry?” Comes from. Also they’re just totally selfish and hamster justifications for all the shitty things they do to us, so part of her probably was thinking “you made me cheat, why would I say sorry when all of this was YOUR fault. You should have been doing XYZ for me then I wouldn’t have had to cheat. YOU should be apologizing to ME. Also they are just children who never develop a sense of morality.

In my blue pill days, I thought that girls didn't want sex and did not enjoy attention of men at all. I thought that they just sacrified themselves just for a guy and did not enjoy anything about it. Because of that, I believed that if I were with a girl, I would not force her to have sex and refuse it if she brought it up, to appear as one who cares.

3 girls quietly rejected me at that time. There was this one I liked most, sent her a message inviting her outside and it took her 6 months to respond to it and she acted as if it was just 5 minutes. I started to feel reluctant to the idea of being with girls. They said they wanted nice guys and then I saw them with the loudest and prickiest ones in the school.

I 've changed a lot in a positive way in college. Got a lot more outgoing and positive. Learnt a lot of different skills. Started to look much better. I also have learnt then from female friends how highly sexual girls were and i was given a huge red pills about what girls really wanted. That was a huge shock to me because I was told my whole life to be nice and respectful to girls and one will surely come along, but then you see it's all been a lie. I wasn't acting myself on rhat knowledge because it all sounded ridiculous to me, but I've started to investigate what it all means on psychological layer. The more I did it, the less I felt I want to be with such people. I started to question it all. Buy her drinks? What if she runs away with it? Hold more frames! What if you stop holding it? It felt like a one sided burden so I've lost interest in girls.

In that time also I had a lot of female friends. All of them are now hostile to each other because this one did that and that one sided with this and this and that. I knew a guy whose gf was batshit crazy and manipulative. She was hugely entitled, all she did was selfies when she came to visit and instagram. She did not listen and would get REALLY mad on her bf for small things and was violent. Everyone knew she cheated on him. She had those crazy eyes.

I also had simp friends who were shit over by girls and ignored and even blantly cheated on, but they still desperately pursued them and you could not talk sense to them because 'they were in love' and 'you will understand someday'.

I had also an opportunity to met a girl in dorm, a friend of a friend, who had a group of party girls. They were all openly admitting to going to expensive clubs 'for us princesses to meet our rich princes, tehee'. I also had a girl housemates who were weird and some were slobs who even left their dirty tampons, dishes to wash and dirty strings in the middle of bathroom. But when their bf came over, everything was masked and perfect.

I've read about sex inequality and connected a lot of dots and I swore to myself I'll be a bachelor till the end of my days. Why do I need a second person that might be a burden and nag me and require me to hold frame all the time when I'm perfectly content with doing things myself? And thus basically I've beckme a 'monk'.

Later on I've discovered mgtow and found out I'm not alone.

I was in an abusive relationship. It fucked me up, but it ended up causing me to do a lot of introspection and a lot of thinking. I ended up figuring out a lot of this red pill stuff on my own, before I even knew wtf it meant to take the red pill. I even decided to give up dating back then.

It wasn't until about 4-5 years after that, that I was introduced to the red pill by a feminist who was using it to insult me.

Before my parents split, they would constantly fighting each other. My best childhood memory wasn't going to disneyland it was when we were actually sit together and watching TV quietly as a family. My aunts and uncle, ( I have 4 aunts, 2 uncles) all have bad marriages. They are not divorce but their marriage is loveless. So I became skeptic about marriage , relationship and drew my own conclusion that marriage is not guarantee of happiest. Having a wife or husband does not mean they will be loyal to you.

Then when I was at my late twenty my best friend suddenly pass away due to heart failure at his workplace. It was a wake up call for me that I need to find my own path before my life ended.

I didn't know there is a name for this lifestyle, until I found this place.

I didn't know mgtow was a thing until last month.

however, I knew the world was skewed since I was in 3rd grade, and NEVER understood why any man (with money) would marry any woman (without money) b/c I know them ALL to be gold diggers.

I speak of being a middle child. the only male with 4 sisters and an overly abusive (shittiest) family (failed) unit.

I saw first hand how men get treated.

they're always ignoring their faults and push as much work on men (and me) as possible, while at the same time, looking down on the guys who do the work for them.

I did fall for a few wymyn, and it was good for a few years, but I've met too many to believe in any type of EQUAL love, and after my first real fiance and I split up(the one at 14yo doesn't count) I began to only date wymyn for a physical reason.

I would be upfront and say, "this is merely physical" and they all took that as a personal test to get more from me, while also enjoying the rides to poundtown amap.... well, after I began doing that, 8 out of 9 (in a row) asked me to marry them.

The first 2 I thought was a fluke, but the more I adamantly stated it's only physical, the more it drew them in, and the more it drew me away. I can't explain that, but I know for a fact men and women value love completely different, and for that, I always ended it before it got more serious.

I have never made any woman more angry than my 1st fiance b/c we did truly love each other, but it was completely fleeting and she also (who I seriously believe she believed 100% was in love w/me too) cheated on my with numerous guys (this was throughout 3 years), and I too cheated on her (we were young, hot, and while sober, our bodies were drunk with romance and youth).. so, I took that as a huge point in my life that I have loved, been loved as much as I could hope for, and made it out without too much hurting each other to ever "love" again, and with that, being completely forthcoming and upfront about "physical only", has made me a mgtow without knowing it.

today, lately, I'd rather dwell on the past experiences and know it was good, when it was good, and by now it would be a disaster. I couldn't ever afford her, and I could never please her enough to keep her satisfied, so it's best this way anyways.

I've also worked with men who had a zero admittance for women, and after working without any women (for a few years) to working with them, it's frigging insane. The men (around women in the workplace) are all castrated, and productivity is shit, compared to 100% male work force. One captain explained it well to me, saying, "as soon as any woman enters the "group", all the men react. They may not be aware of it, They may be married, or have a gf, or too old, too young, it doesn't matter, that single woman will change all the mens behavior in a negative way 100% of the time".

I didn't believe him when I heard it, but I assure you, it's true.

do we need women? yes, yes we do.

do we need them to live a happy, and fulfilled existence? no, absolutely not.

I plan to retire with a few dogs, goats, a fishing boat, and cabin, with a knowledge of making recurve bows, and just enjoying the days. I don't care too much for riches or more things, while I want to have fun, I don't need anything "new" or brand names, and am quite content and optimistic. But doing any of that with a "happy" wymyn doesn't seem possible. After all that I've met, I've never met a single one that was content with the bare minimum.

anyways, I don't know where mgtow has been, or where it's heading, but am glad to see a subredit of it, and am still learning every day.

After I understood TRP, I had a good hard think about what I wanted out of relationships. I came to the conclusion that I could not see any way to get what I expected out of relationships. And dating women casually seemed to be a minefield of covert expectations and games.

So I decided to stop persuing women temporarily. I needed to try and work out what to do, and really get my head clear of all the crap every relationship I had been in had filled it with. This was not a MGTOW decision. I just need to clear my head.

Its been years, and I'm still not persuing women.

I thought that once I had some distance and perspective, I'd know what I wanted out of relationships and women and then I'd be able to persue all that healthily and successfully. I slowly cut out women, and many friends who were bluepill and became a bit isolated.

And I found, the more I cut women out of my life, the happier and simpler and easier my life became. It was like problems just disappeared and news ones did not happen. I watched my blue pill friends with new eyes, and saw how much of their stress came through their damn phone with a woman on the other end of it. They were dealing with all these problems and stresses that I had not experienced in years.

And all these options started opening up for me. I could try out jobs that paid shit without anyone giving a fuck. I could drive around in a cheap beat up car that I liked and didn't have to give a crap about what a date would think.

I'm still technically in the "temporarily not persuing women" phase. I can actually see myself getting into a relationship of some type in the future. But with the rules of mgtow in mind "never co-habitate, never marry, don't have children" even that seems like it would not be a big drama. And if it is, I can go back to being alone in a heart beat.

At this point I'm starting to think about how to form connections with other mgtow men, or at least no longer blue pilled. I'd like to see what a group of guys can acheive without anybody sabotaging or parasiting off them.

I certainly carried MGTOW tendencies, but I was very plugged in and was married for almost 10 years.

Even during my married years, I still pretty much did what I want and for the most part, my wife at the time accepted that. But....AWALT, AWALT, AWALT and shit fizzled.

Frankly, I never, ever should have gotten married, but we all (most of us, anyway) fuck up. Social pressure, Disney programming, whatever.

I dodged a MAJOR bullet so far in my divorce, so I am never dipping my toes in that water again.

I never trusted women, hence the reason I went to great lengths to not impregnate. Some days, selfishly, I wish I had a progeny, but then I snap back to reality and thank my lucky fucking stars.

I have lived a crazy life so far, and I wish I could tell the whole story here, but due to the nature of the internet and society, I like my animonity.

I do love you guys, though! r/MGTOW was a fucking lifesaver for me at a time when I was just trying to decode the madness around me.

Oh yeah. I remember when I was like 12 years old a girl mentioned that she wanted a wedding ring her husband-to-be worked 3 months for. I thought 'if someone would trade a ring for 3 months worth of their 'soulmate's' time, they love the ring, not the man.' But that thinking was pervasive.

I vowed never to buy a woman jewelery. And then, before 18, I vowed never to have kids. I couldn't tie myself to a woman for 'a time that was equal to my current time on planet earth'. And then I decided I would never marry.

I made a couple of mistakes with my first girlfriend, and then shortly after made the decision that I would always split the bill with a woman, and never spend on them. I dated, but never seriously, and backed the fuck out of any relationship that was getting too heavy. In 10 years, I only cohabitated with a girl for about 6 months and that was enough for me.

When I found the manosphere, it didn't really change me, just put labels on things that I intuitively understood and had already applied in my own life.

The second cheated on me and the third was mentally unstable. I'm 22 and I couldn't care less about having a relationship. I've only got a couple of friends (all male) and I've never been happier. I've discovered MGTOW only recently, but I feel good knowing there's so many other people with the same mentality.

As a result I didn't get raped in the divorce, but after seeing several friends get that treatment and then my own divorce, I was and will remain solidly on our side of the river.

Tbh just a year ago (almost exactly) I was rather blue pill and always wondered why I can't find love, isn't it all about personality and not about money/looks? Started to get annoying, found mgtow (can't remember how, very glad i did). Everything that women did around me was explained.

So yeah. Never believe what women say, believe what they do. I don't really see why some hate women, I guess I did a bit at the beginning, but I think what we should hate is all this constant propaganda and brainwashing that they are just pure unicorns that only care about your personality. When tbh i think it's just them projecting what they think men should care when searching for a woman. Because God forbid they choose someone else over her because she didn't look hot enough, only personality should matter!

I did. However finding the community is still very helpfull, because of the support and also shared stories, project ideas etc. But in my mid 20s I went into this PUA stuff and felt strongly that something was terribly wrong. Was getting encouraged by a lot of friends so I still tried this shit for ~2 years before quitting. And after being a bit depressed for a while (I was kind of burned out by it), I saw the light. I understood everything :)

At 21 years of age (waay before I found this subreddit) I was confronted with two lifestyle paths:

1) The expected "normal" go to school, finish my degree, build my CV and see where that takes me. Likely live in one place the rest of my life with a couple weeks travel like everyone else.

2) MGTOW: Drop school and take my profession abroad. Live a nomadic lifestyle bouncing from one country to the next as tourist Visas expired. Long-term relationships would be almost impossible, but I get to see the world, continue my profession, and escape the mundane bullshit of friends and family events with the exception of some weddings and funerals. The only rules and standards to live by is to be respectful of the hosted countries laws and culture, which outside the US are less cruel and more open to fun activities.

Actually I found out about this movement about a week ago. I was stunned when I saw that there were many who followed this path, against all social norms which preach about marriage and a "happily ever after with your fated other half". My belief was since I was 16 years old (now 22) that I should seek happiness. And obviously happiness didn't mean restricting yourself, your ambitions, your goals, your dreams for settling down and having kids. Of course, I don't disregard, neither harbor any contempt for people who choose to do so. It is just that I find happiness in chasing my dreams, improving myself just as they find happiness in living with their companion and their offspring. I don't object their way of life, and neither should they.

Even before m.g.to.o.w. became a thing I noticed at a young age men that got married always got screwed over by their beloved eventually and that the court system rules in the favor of women. I also noticed that women were increasingly become bitches every passing year. Marriage seemed like too much work and not a gamble worth taking. I was right.

I sort of did. I figured out the cost-benefit analysis regarding relationships before hearing about MGTOW. I actually can't remember how I learnt about it or how I got here.

i went my own way in 2009 and then later that year stumbled upon stardusk and barbarossa when i looked for information on divorce statistics and stuff like that. their content resonated so well with me. in my opinion still way up there in quality. anyone interested in mgtow should listen to that. thankfully i was never burned, i have always been a freedom above all else kind of person and when i learned about how my freedom gets completely destroyed when i sign these devilish papers for marriage my personal mgtow journey started.

I didn't know what was happening. Only that whenever I started to go somewhere some box would show up derial it in some way. I use to hang a sign on myself, "Hi, here I am, ready to serve."

Eventually ended up living paycheck-to-paycheck buying a lot of things I neither need nor want. And lots of unhealthy food, both in restaurants and fast food. Had enough.

As a kid though, however like most MGTOW; they were that before they knew MGTOW was a thing. I did have moments of relapse but nothing too financially straining.

I became a MGTOW after watching a handful of videos by a MGTOW YouTuber known as "sandman". I simply realised that I already had these views about women and relationships, but I just didn't know what to define it as. Now I know. It is MGTOW.

I've been mgtow for about 8 years now. I've been through the whole process of relationships except for having kids (thank fucking christ) many times and my perspective is very firm. Women aren't worth it. I have so much free time and money. I hear coworkers complain about all the shit they have to put up with and it just strengthens my resolve. I've had guys pull me aside and say "dude, don't ever have a kid. Just keep having fun." Now I only do things for me, and its the fucking best!

Don't discount the value of using debt to create wealth. Mortgages aren't bad by default...as a matter of fact, is there really any difference between paying a mortgage for the house you don't own because your ex-wife is living in it and paying rent to finance a mortgage someone else got so they could own the property you live in?

Better to pay your own mortgage on your own property, than either of those.

I was mgtow for like 10 years before i even know mgtow was. i just came to the conclusion many of mgtow have and started focusing on myself.
