Why pretend that it’s the exact same people saying this? Yes the left was apologetic towards Demi but they are pretty down with legalization and such. It’s mostly crotchety old business/fox news people freaking out about Elon and those same people would denounce Demi so I don’t get it.

Uhhhh wasn't there like a big outpouring of support after Mac Miller died of an overdose? You can't just pick two random people and compare them side by side to justify your "hypocrisy of women" hypothesis. Elon musk is just generally considered weird by people, because he says weird shit.

I feel like comparing two different people would demonstrate this "hypocrisy" much better.

Demi is a performance artist, and Elon is CEO of a public company. Very different.

But still plenty of artist-to-artist comparisons where there is a double standard.

One that I remember is when Miley Cyrus stuck her ass in Robin Thicke's crotch at the VMAs in 2013. It was merely scandalous that she sexually assaulted him on stage. Could you imaging if Robin had grabbed her hips, and grinded on her? It would be sexual assault on stage, and he would go to jail.

I didn't hear anything about her being any of those things after overdosing. In fact, people looked down on here pretty hard. Maybe they were referencing her "recovery"? The only complaints I heard about with Elon were from investors, which is dumb because I'd rather invest in someone who takes a hit of weed than an alcoholic.

I mean, you have to remember the reputations that proceed Elon and Demi, regardless of gender.

I love Elon, but he's generally an ass trying to get down with the kids.

Demi has been trying for years to rid herself of her addiction, but faltered despite her efforts.

If this was a gender thing, we certainly wouldn't be glorifying, for example, Mac Miller even though he overdosed on drugs.
