For those who don't understand what the commands mean, cd means change directory, so when she enters "cd code", she's trying to enter a directory (folder) named "code" in the current directory.

When the terminal spits out "cd: no such file or directory: code" it means that folder doesn't exist in the current directory.

She enters "cd .." to enter the parent directory. For example, if you were in /grandparent_dir/parent_dir/current_dir and you entered "cd ..", you would then be in /grandparent_dir/parent_dir.

So her whole terminal is just her looking for a folder named "code". ls just means "list the contents of the current directory" and pwd means "print working directory" which prints the full path name of your current directory. None of these commands have anything to do with actual coding, just navigating a file system.

A sign of actual coding in a terminal would usually have commands to invoke a compiler/linker in some fashion, but she doesn't even need to do that. Her code is written in Ruby as denoted by the ".rb" extension, so she can run the program straight from the code text file as long as the file is set up correctly.

And if you look at her actual code in the original photo, it's just the basic "hello world!" shit that beginners learn to see how to get a program to produce any output.

tl;dr: bitch is trying to look tech savvy instead of doing her "programming 101" homework.

This is too specific for most people to understand the blatancy.

It's comparable to a woman snapping a pic of herself pressing a few buttons on a calculator with the caption "on Wednesdays we write articles for the New York times"

Edit: I'd like to add that she has some version of a 'hello world'-program in the background. The first program you create when you start learning to code.

And her way of failing the cd .. -command feels like she doesn't understand how it works. No shame in any of that, just a beginner snapping another pretentious facebook-ego-pic:)

I guarantee you that if she ever did learn a coding language instead of basic linux terminal commands, it'd be ruby on rails.

Then she'd sit coding on her fucking macbook pro in sublime text writing in ruby on rails for her website that ends in an .io domain.

You know, women are like programming languages. Some of them are extremely easy, you input the exact commands and get the results you want. Others, you can spend years learning and you can input all the correct logic and variables, and you still won't get what you want.
