I once dated a teacher for ~a year. At the time I was struggling. I mentioned this before - but I was driving a shitty Toyota Corolla, living with two house mates, and just focused on paying off student loans.

It was around 2017 when she decided - "we have different paths in life". I have since paid off my student loans, drive a nicer car - 2012 because I am not an idiot, and I've doubled my income. I cannot say for sure, but I am pretty sure that she is still paying off private school loans with her charter school teacher salary.

Girls want guys that are better than them in every way. They want a guy that's bigger, taller, stronger, richer, smarter, etc. than them. That means, logically, from the guy's perspective, she's smaller, shorter, weaker, poorer, dumber, etc. than he is. My ex hated that I have a roommate but her being well into her 40's and living in a tiny condo with her retired father didn't seem to be a problem. She had some "setbacks" like not being able to hold on to a job and overspending. I'm more frugal which is seen as "cheap"
