Not surprised she kept it a secret. I have been looking into this whole std thing and women are more likely to hide the fact from their husbands, boyfriends etc. From internet forums I have been visiting to just browsing the internet about stories of people that get std's and how it ruins their life, it seems that more guys say that their ex or wife gave them an std without telling them before hand.

I respect patient record confidentiality. But is there no loophole that allows you to inform others, specifically if your findings result in the endangerment of others lives?

What happens should the husband or kids ever find out that your facility knew of the information but didn't release said life saving information because they weren't your patients at the time?

We're not exactly talking about "why and how Timmy broke his leg." We're talking about full on fucking HIV.

What if the patient had a highly contagious air born disease that killed others within hours of being coughed on. Is that not something that should be disclosed to others for their own safety? How the fuck is HIV any different?

In Canada its considered a crime, purposeful infection is somewhat equivocal to attempted murder.

We all know why women would let their partners die off slow and painfully, because women don't love men, its only a temporal convenience, one partner to the next, hubby, chads, beta bobs, all of us are interchangeable units of economic, sexual production.

Its kind of like in one of Star Dusk's recent vids. Women are somewhat like micro psychopaths, its all about them, their immediacy and their needs. But then again that's most people though women a bit more to that degree.

Yes. It's called HIPPA. Every patient has the right to have ALL medical records info be private....even from their spouse. The only exception is if that patient has a designated responsible party or is incapacitated and can't request the HIPPA protections. (Car accident for example)

Laws should change that if anyone has HIV then their SO and kids must be tested. If it were a primarily male disease, then this would already be the case. Let's say prostate cancer could be passed onto sons by a touch. Then prostate screenings would be mandatory among men and if they had it then their sons would be tested also. And men would simply accept this as good sense.

This is a life or death situation which endangers innocent lives. Are you sure the law says you have to maintain confidentiality? I'm pretty sure that knowingly transmitting HIV/AIDS is a criminal offense punishable by law. I would say check what the federal law says about this.

I think in Canada you can be charged with something like attempted murder if you have unprotected sex with someone and your hiv positive and you don't disclose your status before having sex.

The thing about the spouse not disclosing her status though is a tough ethical dilemma though, as hiv carries a stigma, and forcing disclosure could discourage people from getting tested and make the stigma worse, which is a big part of the reason for the spread of the disease.

Obviously on the other hand the right thing for that person to do would be to admit her status to her family.
