Alimony and child support are huge variables depending the state you live in.

Here in NC they at least post some nice calculators based on the state formula.

A divorce can cost you alimony for 1/2 the term of the marriage. In other words if you were married for ten years, you pay alimony for five.

The alimony calculator tells me I could pay up to $3800 PER month in alimony and an additional $1100 per month for one child.

And that my friends is where the "cheaper to keep her" logic comes from.

I absolutely love seeing all the teenagers and early 20-somethings here going MGTOW. They are learning what I and many others learned the hard way. You have the 2010 average of child support at $430. I assume that is one child.

I pay $1647 in NC for 3 kids and that was after I negotiated it down from $2k during the equitable distribution mediation. I have to work overtime just to pay it as I do not make enough. Fortunately my ex is not being a total bitch about it as I have told her I am fully willing and able to walk away completely and leave the US for good if I had to and it would be 100% her fault. I am fortunate that I don't have alimony or post separation support.

I have a vasectomy scheduled in October and am planning a trip to Bali the following week with a few co-workers. Every MGTOW man planning to still risk sex with women should get one.

I think there is a counter argument though. People who have kids respect people who have kids more. Meaning it could affect whether you get a promotion if you don’t have kids.

You also don’t connect as well with higher ups who have kids or they get jealous of you not having having kids, thus robbing you of opportunity.

After going mgtow I literally can't keep up with making investments because the money just keeps flowing in too fast and there's nothing I really need to spend it on.
