The ex, I found out, used dating websites to get all her john-lites all the time - usually starting as soon as I was walking out of the door.

Craigslist, (which thank god that's shut down now, that's like a mental illness lake of rotting ideas), match, something-cupid, and I'm not sure about tinder, I was unaware of that one when I was married.

I started up john profiles, even chatted with her, and yeah, it was disturbing to find out that there are two major groups of people on dating sites; those looking to get laid, and those looking to exploit the guy who has a hole a mile wide in his soul because of a divorce or breakup.

If using them, I'd say use them with care, understand that chances are, the women generally will be the "poor poor me, take care of me", the "who cares about names, lets fuck", and the ever present "muse, I'll pretend to give you everything, then take everything and feed on your sadness caused by my hatred".

That being said, I'm a firm believer in yin/yang, and did find the woman I've been seeing for a few years now there, but that was a year of perusing, she was the only date I had from a website, and she was and has been since then very aware of my boundaries. It causes some grief sometimes, but nothing that bad.

I think being in the grinder of marriage with a woman that drives men to mgtow/rp/yada yada, the spidey senses are always turned on no different than being Amber in a physical security standpoint all the time. If your gut says no, then fuck it, don't waste another second of time on it.

Dating sites seem like more evidence women don't actually like men. If women liked men, how come dating sites are mostly full of men, robots and scam artists? Some dating sites (according to the BBC so take with grain of salt) hire people to pretend to be female, just so the men don't give up and cancel.

It is pathetic. Even commercial ones! Back then, I signed of for match.com and it was an even bigger scam than the free sites! Lots of "women" messaging you, pretending to be interested, but only to find it's just another scam, she doesn't like you at all. It's just your turn to be harvested.

When you do eventually find someone, chances are she thinks it's such a big privilege to interact with her that it's really a bigger pain in the ass than anything.

These women really should just go out with a mirror, so they can admire themselves. The men are just a nuisance, they block the view :)

POF is probably the biggest dumpster of them all. Jesus, I played a game on there a couple of weeks ago called "Just try and find 3 women you'd be willing to fuck".

I can easily do that on Tinder and OkCupid. POF is like being told you're showing up to a pizza/pussy buffet, but you find out the pizzas are served out of dumpsters and all the chefs are raccoons. Fuck that place.

Dating sites are a waste of your time and money here is why: If you pay for your account which most men do you are able to see the communications of other PAYING customers. But if your like most women you will NOT pay for the site because you do NOT think its worth the 25 bucks per month. So NOW you the paying guy will get an email form a nonpaying female and you will email her back and guess what...she won't see the correspondence because she didn't PAY for her account. Now heres the funny part...I know SQL and databases I work with them on a daily basis. It would be so EASY for the websites to tell their paying customers who their non paying customers are but they won't because they want you to think EVERYONE is a paying customer of their dating site.

yeah its frustrating as hell. i'm good looking, play music and artistic, stable career, physically fit but still had to work like a fucking dog to get any results with online. it would go sometimes 10 to 12 months before I met someone and I got some sex out of it. but then you know it always crashes and burns shortly after that. finally just gave up as its just not worth the time or money.

I wonder what the ratio of active men to active women on the dating sites are. I bet you match.com, tinder, etc. will never give out that data. The field has changed so much within the past couple of years, I think it's probably 15-20% men, and the rest women. I have a feeling men are leaving online dating. Since Tinder, match, etc. are so big and have their own marketing people, it's really hard to know what is true and what's not. Never if rarely has any of these companies mentioned the "dating apocalypse" in any press release. I'm also sure they have social media people that "seed" and promote their sites online in places like reddit and mainstream media making it seem like people are forming stable relationships online and it's just not a meat market.

I also think girls (especially the smart ones) are starting to notice that Tinder is just another name for the "cock carousel"... Would be nice to get some hard data, but i doubt that will happen.

im a week or so into NO dating apps myself. They are just degrading. Last wom,en I talked to turned out to be actually seeing someone else at the same time. I don't go for that so I ghosted her. The least thing I want is someone elses sloppy seconds and im not going to break the bro code. I find once I go no dating apps I cycle into a period of self introspection and feel all depressed and shit. I have tons of hobbies though.
