It's been decades now that media keeps repeating the notion that scientific and technological progress are exponential. However, if it were indeed exponential, in the last few years we would see more progress than we have seen in the decade prior to that. Looking at these last few years, say starting 2019, what major technological changes have we seen? Smartphones and computers are relatively the same. All other home appliances are almost the same. Vehicles are roughly the same. What am I missing?
