Hello gents,

Been lurking since this sub had 25k people, gradually becoming more and more redpilled, not too surprising, considering I married my college sweetheart who was a women's studies major.

For over a decade now my marriage has been absolute hell, so I started looking for advice online on how to deal with an impossible wife and stumbled on mgtow.com's "comments from married men" page. Once I found that, and this sub, a few YouTube channels, and read a few books, the endless problems that I thought were all my fault seem to make sense now. I have been manipulated by my wife to the point of seriously considering suicide, and I'd spent most of my energy trying to fix "issues" she said I supposedly had. It got to the point I was missing work once a week because she'd kept me up literally all night arguing, and I almost lost my job.

Now, this fall, I feel I have turned a corner, I have started carefully stashing some cash, researching divorce, gotten myself out running and lifting weights daily, and steadied my rep and increased my output and involvement at work. Reduced my alcohol and ice cream habits. My kids are young teens, and I have focused on spending time with them.

The advice and stories here and in the mgtow community have enabled me to ignore the bullshit my insane wife throws at me and focus on myself and my future without her.

There is a scene in the novel The Count of Monte Cristo where the main char is in prison, hopeless and abject, then he hears a scraping in the wall, another prisoner slowly digging a tunnel to escape, and he regains hope, and begins tunneling, too.

That's me, scraping away down there, heading toward the free air. Thanks, gents, for the awareness raised-- I only wish I'd found mgtow at 22 instead of 42.

Cheers.
