I'll second his basic diet recommendations -- that's pretty much "solid" advice for just about everyone, it's the path to both gaining (appropriate) weight if you're underweight, losing weight if you're overweight (*), and maintaining a healthy weight once you've already achieved that.
-- The things you MOST need to avoid (keep to a minimum) are the shitty (so called) "empty" calories -- crap like pasta (especially "convenience" forms, i.e. pasta from a can or restaurant), etc. and virtually all "fast/junk" foods, particularly HFCS-laden "beverages" (of any/all kinds) and the vast majority of "snack" food.
-- Oh, and you should flat-out ignore any and all bullshit about "cholesterol" (and/or "vegan/vegetarian") shit -- milk, butter, eggs, cheese are EXCELLENT sources of proteins & fats you need(but real stuff, not "fake" -- no "skim" milk {and especially NO "soy-milk" or "almong-milk" or any other pseudo-'milks'; which are NOT milk at all, they're over-processed "waste" products}; minimize "margarine" {faux-butter}; avoid "egg substitutes" {no one really even knows what THAT crap is}; and no "cheese-FOOD" {which is industrial-food-waste crap made to LOOK like cheese}).
-- Your body DOES need/want SOME vege & fruits (primarily for mineral content), but it's best if raw (or if cooked then into "stews" or roasts where the "drippings" are consumed, thus retaining the minerals that "juice" out) -- and a little bit of breads/grains (for fiber) are good too -- those things aren't "evil" if & when they are kept to a relative minimum (a part of your diet, not the whole or even MAIN portion of it).
* And yes, controlling even reversing "type II diabetes" -- this worked with my father, his doctor was amazed at how his blood sugar levels dropped and held fairly steady across over a full decade after he was "diagnosed" (and he wasn't even really all that "faithful" about maintaining said "paleo" style diet, he still ate far too many "carbs" {and if/when he did, that's when his sugar levels went up... DUH! -- even if they didn't go into "danger" high territory -- key by the way was that the fats in the diet keep sugar levels from "wide swings/crashing" which is typical of most diabetics, and the REAL danger}).
-- Also note: if you want, I can give a couple of really GOOD references (articles & books) that debunk the -- alas still "mainstream" -- bullshit about cholesterol, carbs vs fats, proteins etc.

If you're young (sounds like you still are)... then consider GO MAD.
That's not instruction to become insane, it's an acronym: "G.O.M.A.D. diet" (and "exercise" plan) -- go look it up.**
You don't necessarily need to go to that extreme (personally I think the "full gallon of milk" is both unnecessary and not really wise); but the general principle -- lots of milk proteins, fats & calcium -- is sound; especially for a young guy needing to "bulk" up (muscle AND bone -- can't build a solid house if you lack the basic lumber/raw materials to construct it with).
* Most of the people posting in here didn't even bother reading what your goal is -- their "diet" advice is mainly about LOSING weight -- that's the last thing you need. Seriously, if you're actually 6'2" and only 141 pounds... egads dude, that's
LEANSKINNY for someone a full head shorter than you, it's borderline "malnourished" for someone your height... you need LOTS of proteins and fats (and I'd be willing to bet the extra calcium to help strengthen what are otherwise probably relatively "thin" {and potentially then "weak"} bones).-- ** EDIT: I know a couple of teens (where I heard about this "GOMAD" from) who went from tall-&-scrawny, to substantially "filled out" in less than a year -- following that and solid exercise. Also... avoid the "short cuts" of all of that commercial "protein powder" crap (don't really matter WHAT kind it is... soy, whey, whatever.. it's all industrial-food WASTE repackaged and sold to suckers; shit's NOT good for you, and I guarantee you most people/places that PUSH the crap are mainly {if not solely} doing it because it's INSANELY profitable to do so.)

-- Indeed... they read the one word "diet" in the title... and nothing else.
Dude is tall (6'2") and scrawny (141 pounds???) as all shit... he needs to "bulk up."
Not to become some frigging "soy boy" vegan with IBS.

Wasn't intended to be funny... was entirely serious: on all points.
