In other words, hypothyroidism by itself, doesn't directly cause massive weight gain. It can cause metabolic syndrome which can cause massive weight gain.

I'd like to give you an up-vote, truly I would, but there are more problems that can contribute to hard-to-diagnose obesity. Obesity is basically caused by a high level of insulin in the blood. This could happen for a few reasons, like the brain not regulating the amounts properly. Some are very difficult to diagnose. However, this still accounts for a very small percentage of the population. Most obese people are fat because they eat too much sugar in some shape or form, and the insulin levels in their body are always jacked high and thus, fat cells are filled and are never emptied.

Like you said yourself however, it's only a small percentage of the population, and my main point still stands: although the woman in the OP in this thread is a cunt, I still think there's something to be said about people on airplanes, typically massively overweight individuals, who take up too much room are a problem and should pay more for the same ticket I pay for. Arguing for equal treatment to the two people, one who typically doesn't monitor their consumption as much as another, is SJW bullshit.

You're right, I was just adding to your edit. Those fat people with problems can get help too. Some drugs or operations can provide good solutions to the fat problems. There may be a very, very small minority who cannot be helped at all. For those few, they could eat 500 calories a day and still put on weight.. It's pretty messed up.
