It's funny considering how much stuff I learned from playing games growing up. I didn't even know about the Crusades that took place in eastern Europe with the Teutonic Order until I played Medieval Total War 2, learned basics of how radar operates and the basics of flying planes until I got into F14 Fleet Defender, Aces of the Pacific and Janes F15 and WW2 Fighters. Learned about infantry and tank tactics from playing the Combat Mission and Close Combat games.
Learned alot about coding and memory too from modding the Doom games and playing around with tools like Cheat Engine.

Medieval 2: Total War
I am so immensely grateful that we got to experience the golden era of games growing up. My love of reading, writing, learning & history also came from video games, particularly the old Total War titles.

They're actually better because video games are interactive, not passive. I've watched a lot of TV over the years and it does turn your brain to mush to a certain degree, whereas gaming is good for your hand-eye coordination and requires a bit of grey matter.

Yes, World at War taught young me plenty about the final days of WW2. It also drove me online to research more because learning about the existence of the Battle of Berlin blew my mind at the time

Fantasy video games also tend to draw words, names and themes from cultures across the globe. As do the board games and pen/paper/dice games that predate computers. The richness of myth and legend are always astounding. The one that struck me was Ignis Fatuus, the fool's light AKA Will-o'-the-wisp; Lights that guide people off the safe paths and to their doom.
There are too many to even try to name, but that one I remember the most beacuse I've actually seen something similar in person. Needless to say, I didn't go chasing it to my down demise.

Yeah I basically learned how Computers operate by developing interests in memory from a young age. The curiosity I got from reading a memory address and looking it up... Enjoyed a lot of that learning.
Boys learn by doing instead of memorizing. When we are interested in something it's very easy to pick up

My fav game of all time. I still play it every now and then. In fact I just finished a HRE campaign, victory on turn 67 :).
I'll second that I learned a shit ton from video games over the years, I'd venture more than women do from painting their faces. Geography from myriad games with real-world maps, vocabulary and reading comprehension from old-school MUDs back in the 90s, weapons from war games, reflexes and hand-eye coordination from sports and platformers.

Yes I enjoy Shogun II, it's def a great game esp with FOTS. I've enjoyed many hours of it. However I'm always going to prefer M2 for a couple reasons.
Have you tried Warhammer 1/2? I was at first skeptical about the fantasy world, but the game is amazing. The factions have very distinct unit types, and the campaign map is huge. The scale and variety are unmatched, giving amazing replayability.

One interesting thing I picked up from being engaged to a manicurist is that women LOVE their coloring books. First I dismissed it as meh, just to kill time. But no, women have to scribble or paint something, and it's usually kids' coloring books. And I wouldn't make a big deal out of it except how women criticize men for doing things like building model planes or cars, flying drones, or playing video games, not to mention games ranging from chess and loteria all the way to mah-jong and card games like poker and spades.
And now they make coloring books for adults. Jesus.

Video game is the ultimate form of creativity. It has arts, musics, interactivity, story-telling and etc.
in RPG, you struggle with the characters and grow stronger with them. "It teaches you that if you want to become better, then you must work on yourself. Whether it's slaying monsters, become good at being a merchant, gain more knowledge through research, and etc."
In a fighting/shooting/sports game, you have to practice to get good at it. It teaches self-reliance.

Most of the media women tend to buy is either about how to make themselves cuter, useless celebrity gossip and award shows (who wore what dress and why some of them suck), and everything in the fashion industry.
Women deal in the superficial things. I am not saying men don't it's that for women they are targeted by marketing to live life between one eye shadow color and another whereas men learn things more substantial than what Kim Kardashian ate for lunch last week.
There's some famous people I wouldn't mind meeting but it's women who take these Kardashians and such to a new level of almost god like. As much as I like his music, Marilyn Manson isn't a god. He might be fun to meet but it's women and certain feminine gays who make celebrity in general into something far bigger.
Thing is, a lot of these professional thots like Kim have done nothing to deserve fame. What's she famous for, sleeping with black guys and shopping? Apart from her dad being one of O.J.'s lawyers she really does not have very much to her.
