Direct overhead lighting makes anyone look worse, but you can tell that they undeniably have an unhealthy amount of stomach fat and love handles. An overhanging stomach is always unhealthy (read the research), and it takes a very bad, deliberate diet of mostly fattening foods (most people eat this way) to achieve this.
