masturbating is like a temporary high, and it makes you feel good when you didn't actually accomplish anything. Therefore, they use the energy that they used to use on masturbating for more productive things. Obviously, there are white knights and blue pillers but the concept is not faulty. It's also a discipline thing, like taking a colder shower. It makes you used to being uncomfortable.

Also, what? Of course they're gonna shame someone if they say they like masturbating, the subreddit is called "nofap" i'm not sure what other outcome could possibly arise from that situation.

Maybe this hasn't been an issue but some of these guys literally cannot top jerking off. Here's the rub. Releasing sperm lowers your testosterone. Retaining sperm raises it. HOWEVER, this is only true for 7 days. After 7 days your testosterone levels will not increase.

Here's my own personal take on porn.

Myth one porn needs to be increasingly more hardcore to gain the same results. This isn't really true. I often tend to alternate what porn I watch. Sometimes it's chicks masturbating, other times it full on DP, but there are times when I just turn on Youtube and watch softcore.

Myth 2 Porn turns into some unhealthy obsession. The bottom line is porn is too damn boring to turn into any kind of obsession. I guess some people will become addicted to it. Others won't, this isn't porn it's your personality.

Myth 3 Porn causes erectile dysfunctions. I don't see it like this. I think once men are no longer turned on my women (and the overwhelming reason for this is the inability to establish intimacy with a woman) - then they're at risk of having erectile dysfunctions.

Having said all that, I think it's a good idea to have breaks from porn every now and again. Just like it's a good thing to do everything in moderation. Same could be said about drinking too much coffee.

Additional free time to pursue hobbies, interests, self-improvement, work on home, earn money, etc. It's a cost/benefit thing. Regular ejaculation supposedly reduces your risk of prostate cancer but given how full of shit the medical industry is I don't know how much you can trust that claim. Then you have to consider the psychological impact. The more time you go without the more sex focused you tend to become. Two or three days might not be so bad but much beyond that and you'll have to actively distract yourself with other things.

I tried it out once a few years back. I think I managed 3 or 4 weeks. Had erections when I didn't want erections. Had to clean up after having wet dreams. It was like being 14 years old again. It was damned inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have some kind of porn induced erectile disfunction in which case from what I've heard you would need upwards of 3 months to remedy it. I would assume somebody whose dick doesn't work wouldn't have to put up with frequent unprovoked erections or wet dreams.

To see some benefits you have to go 14 days at a minimum. For me I saw the benefit of better overall energy in the morning and clear cognitive thinking. Recovery from the gym is better and running longer in distance. There is a reason professional boxers abstain for several weeks until the fight. Your legs are tight and solid and the testosterone build up helps you do tasks much more efficiently. There is no super power but rather you will feel better overall.

The no fap redit goes overboard with these 90-120 day hard mode shit. I recommend streaks of 14 to 30 days and see how you feel. Then day 31 go hard banging my flashlight and restart again.

Masturbation is healthy but fapping 2-3 a day watching porn is not. Anything in moderation will be fine.

I recommend you give it a try...go for 10 days and see if you feel anything

I don't buy into the NoFap business and personally don't agree with them for their reasoning. However, from a medical (psychiatric) standpoint masturbation with the aid of novel porn queuing isn't healthy for the mind. The same way that women lose the ability to pair bond because they've fucked 100s of Chads, men too lose that ability because they're object associated with the reward (release of dopamine) is a porn image. Watch new porn every time and you condition your brain.

I did stopped watching porn for my own reasons. Not because its "bad" for my health but because I ...how to put it....have the suspicion that porn makes us value women higher then they deserve.

To try and explain, I think by watching all these different women shapes and bodies we automatically raise their values. When we then meet a woman with said shapes and bodies in real life, we subconsciously value them higher as we should. Causing all sorts of problems of course.

Thats why I stopped porn, as a form of "experiment". The funny thing is, I havent watched porn now for two months (I would normally watch at least every two days) and I dont miss anything.
