That makes it sound like you do believe it is real though (and if you do, I won't bother arguing against it when its been so thoroughly debunked that you can go on youtube and look for yourself). Either way, you've missed the point. It's not institutionalised in the sense of it being law (the wage gap isn't really either though even if you believe in it), but as a cultural norm. The point being that feminists will talk all day about eliminating various cultural norms and the wage gap but somehow they are silent when it comes to the cultural norms that are of benefit to them at the detriment of males. It doesn't have to be on the level of a gold digger; men being judged by their pay is still a social norm and expectations for them to provide for a woman is still a social norm.

Hence they'll get equal pay whilst still keeping the benefits of males being often expected to provide for them, without the socio-economic context that the norm made a lick of sense in. As far as you feminists (yes I assumed you're a feminist or some kind of sjw because you smell like one) go, I'm fairly sure you are all for extinguishing harmful social norms as it's most of what your agenda is based on.

That isn't what institutionalised means; what relevance does where it occurs have? Institutionalised doesn't mean within an institution (like a university; i.e. rape wouldn't be institutionalised just because it happened on campus, in an institution). What really matters in determining whether something is institutionalised is whether it is systematic somewhere; i.e. stuff like apartheid is institutionalised racism because it's systematic racism from LAW. Both would be systematic as norms and thus can be extinguished as norms can be changed. That's why these sjw types love to focus on systematic things; if it's systematic then you can change something in a concept or law and thus change the outcome of that concept or law and fix the issue whatever the issue may be. The argument falls apart so badly on another level as well; even if I were to agree that the male provider norm was just a personal choice; personal choices may not be fully extinguishable but can be decreased just like people have been trying to do with many things like non-systematic forms of racism over the years.

I might have heard some lip service paid to it here and there, but lets face it, they've done diddly squat to turn the tide against it just like they never do squat to help mens issues, and many of them will argue that it should not be their goal to help mens issues. That's what the post is really getting at here.

You said the gap isn't written in law; if it isn't a result of law then how could you possibly hope to sue anyone for doing something that isn't illegal? Do yourself a solid and research into this wage gap a bit more; just watch a couple vids from skeptics like thunderf00t or sargon of akkad who aren't even MGTOW. Even if we allow that you could sue your business that doesn't change the fact that norms can be 'extinguished' and we've established male providers as a social norm and therefore it can be extinguished regardless of who is suing what. Just because you can't take legal action in terms of social or cultural norms, doesn't mean there aren't other methods of snuffing it out; feminism is well acquainted with crying about female stereotypes as a method of trying to do this. As long as male providers/breadwinners are a social norm it's institutionalised and systematic just like that wage gap you believe in. I'm being more and more generous with these assumptions and using your own premises but your argument doesn't even hold up on your own assumptions; both are institutionalised in your view and thus both can be extinguished.

its illegal to discriminate based on gender in the workplace. Its not illegal to rely on a man for money. Except for cases involving prenup. Videos by skeptics are not viable sources if they don't cite anything. I cited something related to wage gap (that itself has sources) in another comment, read that and its sources before you reply again please. Its possible to snuff out the popularity of something but, humans being humans its impossible to completely wipe it out. Is racism socially accepted? No. Does it still happen? yes. Is murder socially accepted? No , but that ALSO still happens. Hell, genocide still happens in parts of the world. You can't completely snuff out a behavior. You're trying to deal in absolutes and that doesn't work with human nature. And honestly? I don't think men are expected to provide NEARLY as much as they used to be and female or equal breadwinner status hasn't really been looked down on in popular opinion for a long time. And the acceptability shows no signs of slowing down. You're asking for something that's already improved a lot, and is still being improved upon to be fixed as though its never even been talked about.

I'm not asking for anything. It's improved but because of feminists? Yeah right; men, MRAs and red pill types are the only people pushing that kind of stuff; the feminists are usually the ones arguing against it or conveniently ignoring it. However, this is far from the original point. You've forgotten the complete point of the post that I mentioned before; feminisms lip service to male issues. I'm not stupid and know human behaviour cant just be erased (norms technically can be though which is what I did say but you conveniently misrepresented my argument) and if you read the post before my last one, I said that if I accepted it as just a personal choice, it can be decreased (which feminists have not done shit to help it decrease). Videos debunking the wage gap often do use citations, it's easy to find some articles with citations or videos with citations on why the gap is bollocks but that isnt what this is about and I dont care if you cited something because like I said, thats not what we are here for. Also, I'm not dealing in any absolutes; check your reading comprehension. It's illegal to discriminate but not illegal to rely on a man for money; what's your point? That's a statement not an argument; you aren't and haven't been responding to any of my arguments except for just making random assertions or creating strawmen. I was trying to be a bit nice about it but, don't waste my time; go educate yourself on the wage gap and argumentation; you seem like a neophyte SJW rather than a seasoned one so maybe you'll change your mind.

I feel like the "breaking the glass ceiling" thing kinda goes hand in hand with that though right? If someone's higher on the work and money totem pole they're less likely to need someone else for support. Also I mentioned the law because you asked how someone could sue. I admit though, I suck at wording things and probably haven't been very clear. My point was, feminists haven't said that as a statement because its not been seen as a prominent problem. I didn't mean to suggest you as an idiot, I don't think you're an idiot. I think you're wrong or at least confused in this particular instance. I didn't believe in the gender gap either really until I read the thing I linked a minute ago. I don't consider myself an SJW, I just like to have an open mind on things because I dislike being taken advantage of or unknowingly doing something at someone else's expense. I was saying that I didn't really see it as a social norm anyway and so it cant be extinguished like you're now claiming you want it to be extinguished, if it already basically has been.
