Moral of story for young mgtow types; get a trade where your end goal is your own business. work in that trade for someone else to learn the ropes.... And to also finance your tools.
Then you exit and take your clients with you.
Theres a renaissance coming in trades and cottage industries. Tooling is affordable now and available like never before in human history.
When I was a kid, in the 60's only guys who were professionals could afford welders and cutting torches.
Nowdays any guy who wants them can get them plus plasma cutter, angle head grinders, drill press and hand power tools... and start doing metal fabrication etc.
as a metal fab friend pointed out to me years ago theres always money in small trailers because people buy cars.
its the same on machining with CNC stuff etc. You can literally make a living making a widget or two for AR rifles, or anything else....
Guys! follow your interests! do good work. Please your clients as best you can.
As Rücker the economist pointed out; the objective of business is clients not money. if you gain clients and run a competant business, the money will come.
"In business, be competant." (Tao)
Avoid females like Diseased Lepers. they will trash you, every stinking time.
[–]GrisBosque29 points30 points31 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Also realize, that the feminist influx into corporate business and government is going to trash them pretty bad via "Ding-dong effects".
As Thomas Colvin pointed out; small business exists in the troughs between large business....
If they degrade corporations and governments, those troughs get wider and deeper....
Be ready by vectoring towards being up and running with your business as this happens.
Short selling reality can work very well over time.

Oh it gets better, the boomers in the top management spots are holding the diversity hires in check.
Now that they're finally starting to retire those women and non-whites are competing for jobs they're not qualified for and not skilled enough to handle. You can only fail up so many times.
So yeah the corporate industries are going to be in for some hard times. And I don't think a lot of Gen Z young men will be quick to carry the workloads of various women through college and later in the office.
[–]GrisBosque6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Pretty obvious where its going... "Full Stupid" AKA "The Gillette Model".
Basically upper management has been intellectually bankrupt for two generations. Turned out by Universities with cookie cutters...
And they come up with absurd stuff trying to look competent.
And of course were suckers for feminist BS...
So now we have a management being infiltrated by even "more complete" idiots...
Prediction is easy; Guys with brains running their own businesses will walk all over the corporate and agency types.
These are like idiot princes and princesses... they got the job. but without somebody with a brain running the show, history will be very interesting for awhile....

This also works gloriously in certain IT fields. Security, for example. Consulting as an individual contributor rakes in soooo much money when I have the time to do it!
[–]GrisBosque11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, I have a son in IT security. similar job description to Snowden before his extended Russian vacation.
And another son who could read at adult levels at three years old, who was a state champion in College thats doing very well in a business partnership... He just branched into building custom replacements for certain types of very expensive computer boards. working under a microscope. worth thousands each. Has the clients already coming in the door for other services.
Taught both to follow their interests and use their brains from toddlers...
Theres insurmountable opportunity for guys who follow those patterns now.
The guys need to let go of the "Get a job" concept, and instead start laying groundwork for their own businesses. And then apply their passion to create the next paradigm.

I plan to do machine learning freelance jobs after I finish university, I've heard an industry professional (head of a large IT company) say that freelance is the way to go in IT, if you work hard, and are good in your field.
[–]PleaseComeCorrect0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yep, being good really is the key. The market is saturated with people who attended boot camps and are really good at passing tests - which is 100% useless to getting my project over the finish line on time.
If I hire a consultant and he doesn't deliver something I couldn't do myself, he's gone in 2 weeks - and that's just due to processing lag in the paperwork. I don't fuck around. Once you know how good a good person actually is, you can cut through the chaff in a few days with 100% accuracy. Layabouts self-identify in 48 hours or less.

You wont be doing much of anything on a CNC machine without connections and knowing someone.
You'll be driven out of the marker by larger production shops with faster machines and better tooling.
You're better off going into welding if you want to be your own boss. But be prepared to inhale toxic fumes as well.
[–]GrisBosque6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
I'm artistic and creative. I dont just do things others do. I orginate designs and could easily beat the people with spendy shops and near zero imagination.
On welding, long gone are the toxic flux stick welding days. its a fairly clean job now with wire welders and plasma cutters etc. Grinders are still dirty, but you can wear protective gear and do your grinding before shower time. Also very powerful smaller Milwaukee grinders now, so not such a back breaker as with bigger grinders.
And you can get multiple pieces laser cut affordably.
I have zero fear of people with more money than brains.. of which there are many.
And am professional in enough different trades to leap from one thing to another.
"Imagination is more important than knowledge."
I dont need to know anybody I cant walk in on with business...
And would never give anybody the whole project.
in fact, would be unlikely to show them more than one piece.
And have stuff worked up to go for military procurement contracts...
[–]studyinformore4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
The fumes from mig tig or stick are still hazardous to your health. It's a dirty job, and if you have to be in a confined area with the fumes, you'll be coughing up some nasty shit for days.

point a small fan at your face.
I used to stick weld at a bench that I set up like that... and used sodium flood lights to warm my work area which was roofed but entirely open.
Its like sitting in the summer sunshine with a balmy breeze on your breathing snout. And the extra light makes it easier to see what you are doing before striking an arc. etc.
You just cant blow the arc with the fan...
Some smart guy should build a tracking unit for fan and lights that follows you around... RFID chip stuck to welding hood and fan tracks that, and lights pool on you and the work area you can reach...
Then all you need is your beer to follow you around too!

Special case....
Something you might look into is the old style water bath window coolers. They were very popular.
Had a pump and a fan, and then a loose filter that the water ran down. recirculated the same water. so you just kept them filled. used very little electricity compared to an air conditioner.
And what they did really well was filter air. I used them for grass pollen allergy... was living where most of the lawn grass seed for the planet was grown....
Sure they are still manufactured. And you can also just set them in a room. worst part was minor fan noise.
[–]GrisBosque0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
On welding you set the suction side of fan in clean air. you can blow air a good distance even softly. you dont just stick it by your work.
[–]studyinformore3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
"All of these forms of welding produce visible smoke that contains harmful metal fume and gas byproducts, OSHA states. Welding fumes contain a variety of metals, including aluminum, arsenic, beryllium, lead and manganese. Argon, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and hydrogen fluoride gases often are produced during welding.
Health issues
Welding fumes can cause serious health problems for workers if inhaled, according to OSHA. Short-term exposure can result in nausea, dizziness, or eye, nose and throat irritation. Prolonged exposure to welding fumes can lead to cancer of the lung, larynx and urinary tract, as well as nervous system and kidney damage. Certain gases, such as helium, carbon dioxide and argon, displace oxygen and can pose suffocation risks, OSHA notes, particularly in enclosed work areas."
Still applies to modern welding.
[–]GrisBosque-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
read my other replies. addressed how to get around that too.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Blowing air means shit without proper ventilation. Welding fumes hang in the air and are easily visible under different lighting conditions. You need fresh air blowing in, and an access point for the gasses to push out.
Correct. which is why the open shop with the fan and the sodium lights worked fine. was easier/cheaper than heating the entire floor, gave me good working light and made even stick welding no problem.
And the fan I used was a six inch electronics type fan. similar to a computer fan but larger. It was quiet, didnt blow too hard and supplied nice clean air into my breathing space.
And the heat from the sodium lights and the arcs caused the smoke to constantly thermosyphon out due to being an open space.
It worked fine. With stick welding, it would work fine with wire welding..
try it, instead of arguing. I dont come here to argue. I come here to help others.
Its about welding, not esoteric theories.

I'm in IT/software and it's often said that working for someone else is better than working for oneself in this industry.
With that being said, my dad recommended getting trained in CNC. There are jobs nearby. They don't pay as much as IT but I wonder if this would be a better entrepreneurial option.
[–]GrisBosque1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The CNC thing is incredibly powerful if you are the creative one who comes up with the widget people want.
I tend to specialize in "missed logic". humans almost invariably follow a pattern of whats traditional... And if you study any field starting at the fundamentals, and analyzing the problems in state of the art stuff, you can invariably find missed logic that allows you to create the new paradigm.
Traditionalism is like a generational rut. And always a mix of expedients and compromises that are no longer necessarily valid with the new tech available to do things.
Just get in the habit of looking for the missed logic! its like easter eggs in the grass...

Always make things you'd want... Always make them like you'd want them made.
Everyone is sick of Chinese crap.
Mgtows will figure out they dont need very much stuff, and that its better to get quality instead of quantity.
So the people who set up the crap to consumers trip have created a problem. all problems are just opportunities from a bad perspective.
Theres crap everywhere. from software to widgets. Get quality tools.

Bro i need help on this. I have a degree on a good hard science, but i cant stand working in front of a screen. Im a physical dude. I need a trade. I have no idea where to start and what to do. What do you suggest? What you suggested sounds like you need a personal workshop to work. For most of us who live in cities that is not possible.
The workshop can be built into a box truck, box van, or box trailer.
A really nice one is the older Grumman delivery vans. They often have Cummins engines. And you can buy at auction from bread companies etc. for basically scrap value.
And a mgtow type can live in his shop. All you need is a place to sleep and cook and work on stuff thats warm and dry.
I have a buddy that turned a Grumman into a 4wd kinda monster van... goes to Baja all winter.
And you can do solar panel and battery systems to run most small tools. And get a porta welder or larger Genny to run the high draw stuff.
As for recomendations; I'd want to know what kind of stuff you'd like to make...
Hobbies are a business in incubation.
Businesses are hobbies youve capitalized on.
its a dichotomy.
One very rich field is what I call; "Neoindigenous". using new tech and materials to create artifacts that made life better for people for thousands of years.
Start thinking like things are going to go road warriors and what you'd want your mobile trading post to produce.
Guy things!
its those instictual guy attractions that are what get humanity thru these tough spots...
And they always have a market.
The truth is about mgtow that its guys leaving the system for more freedom and learning to live by their wits... They are going to want things to do that.
I design and make things every day. usually multitasking two or three different prototypes at the same time for efficient tool use. I start the genny and dont stop until I need to go cook etc.
Creativity is incredibly powerful. And if you do your very best at every step, the finished widget shows it.
Anything made can be made better. The difference between something exquisite and a POS, is not the materials and labor, its how much time you spent thinking and perfecting your design ideas, and how quality you insist your work be.
"Art is doing things as they should be done, Not as they are done."
its a Universe of new possibilities due to this mgtow paradigm shift.
think ahead of the curve.
perfection is invariably in the direction of simplification.
[–]TheLastMgtow0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Thanks man. Even though it would be hard to put in practice, i appreciate the creativity.
Everything worth doing is somewhat difficult. But thats what makes completion such a pleasure.
You have to live your own expression of yourself, and do what you want to do, and not what others think you should.
"The hard path looks easy." (Tao)
ie people are always taking the easy looking way, and getting screwed for it.
Much better to confront difficulty.
One thing I and friends do, is in any job attack the most difficult parts first in order of difficulty.
Amazing how everything gets progressively easier when you do that! its like magic!
[–]TheLastMgtow1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Another problem i see with this, is that you need to invest in a place and settle in a specific country and city. I know that a lot of mgtows plan to leave for another country. And it would be stupid to stay attached to a place in a form of a building or a business. If I go east, i certainly want to keep my freedom to leave and go somewhere else if i need.
read my other replies in the thread. addressed how to cure those problems.

metal fab
This is a trap. You don't know it's happening until it's too late.
First, you buy that bridgeport, because hey, you've always wanted one. But the mill is lonely over there, all by itself. Better get a lathe to keep it company. Man, sure would be nice if I had a bandsaw to cut stock for that lathe, so here comes the Hemsaw. Hard to load stock into the Hemsaw, might look at getting a forklift. Better get yourself a Miller 211 while you're at it. Know what would be nice? A press brake. Have to make a spot for that, and the associated tooling. If you're going to have a brake, you might as well get a roll too. Now that you've got a brake, and a roll, you really need something to cut the parts to bend or roll, so you're expanding your building to make room for the plasma table. While you're expanding, you better run those rails for the bridge crane. Better go ahead and get a TIG to go with that Miller over in the corner. Wet rig, of course. Now people are hearing about your stupid shop, this hobby getting out of control, and dammit, now you have customers. You've got orders you can't fill fast enough. You have to hire some people.
And before you know it, your harmless little hobby is making you money. All I wanted was to learn to run a manual mill, but nooooo.
Thats funny!
And makes my point about hobbies being a business in incubation and businesses is a hobby you have capitalized!
If guys follow their interests and find their passion, and use their minds creatively, and are good to their clients, and do good work, money happens...
Business does not require an MBA from an Ivy league University. It requires common sense and a love of doing things.
"You are your business"... its not a job, its who you are.
Enterprise, is probably the only thing humans do that works really well.
We screw everything else up. but its enterprise that got us where we are, because some like being creative and productive, and others will do things too to get those things.
And it doesnt matter if its cooking or machining... if you like doing it and get good at it, people will line up to pay you for your stuff.
If I ever had to apply for a job again, I would go to production shops and tell them I love to make things...
I make things every day and have for years just because I like projects.
Money is just another tool, And I dont care what it is, I can design and make it...
And even the Bible points out that the cure to poverty is production.
We're guys... the makers. And you dont need to be a corporation to make beautiful and useful stuff.
[–]Jourdanis0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'd like to add that it's the same with white collar jobs. If you are a programmer, don't settle down at some large corporation. Rather specialize in a field, learn it well, and network like crazy during university.
Work during summers. At least here in Eastern Europe IT/engineering is in such high demand, people will hire you even if you are only doing your bachelors. Build a good portfolio from your individual projects/projects you contribute to.
If all that is done, and you've established yourself in some companies you worked at as a useful guy, (at least in IT the amount of incompetent "took a bootcamp course on the internet for 10$" guys is staggering) become your own boss. Make a small company, and do freelance work.
I'm in university right now studying computer science, this is the advice I got from a family friend, who runs one of the biggest IT companies in my country. I know this is a bit specific, what I am trying to illustrate, is that if you are competent with what you do, and you are willing to work hard, you don't have to be a corporate shrimp, even if you do work in a traditionally "office job" field.
Hiring discrimination also won't affect you if you are a freelancer. For outside experts, companies will hire the experts, not the wahmen.
Very cool! my knowledge on computer related issues is small... literally 25 years in the jungle and third world. And we got cell phone internet maybe ten years ago. So I'm more like an online Rip Van Winkle...
But have a related to your point story;
Many moons ago I was married with kids... It was the recession of the early 80's, which according to the wife, was all my fault because I wasnt making her rich quick enough...
I worked all kinds of odd jobs, built an extensive organic garden, got a degree in Construction, and built alot of stuff.
And one day made a work trade with a friend for a used Commodore 60. the first affordable PC. Friend was getting the next model.
I take this computer home mostly for my kids to learn on. One son 6, the other 3 years old.
Wife ragged me because I brought home a used POS, instead of the $50....
Later, I bought a $100 Radio Shack agenda pad, that came with no program, you had to program it in basic. from a book.
Gave that to the kids too!
Fast forward; youngest son is in IT Security, has several hundred University trained IT types under him. He can write pages of software out of his head, and not have to bother to check for function.
He never went to a University.
Older son became a State Champion in U, and half his work is on computer now, in a field where he's doing better than his dentist and doctor.
And the Exwife makes good money running an advertising department single handed doing foto shop type work on a computer.
All started by that computer work trade...
That I got ragged for.
Moral of story: get your kids booted early on stuff. Dont wait for the Educational System to do it.
And yes! IT is like any other field; if you apply yourself and turn out a very quality product, You will have work, and plenty of it....

IT's doubly bullshit in IT fields like programming. The rough estimate is 6 months for a new employee. For that time they'll be effectively less than fully useful on a project, and they'll be sucking up someone elses time to get fully effective and up to speed.
[–]iongnil0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
My previous employer would take in contractors at £450 a day rather then upskill permanent staff because they knew as soon as we got any valuable skills, qualifications we'd GTFO of there. Several colleagues did this, so they introduced a clause in our employment contract which meant we had to pay back the cost of training if we left within 18 months of attending a course. These clauses are relatively common in IT as the cost of training is so high.
And this was working for a government department.
My current employer doesn't do this and their IT setup is a million times better, much more stable, better performing and IT staff's attitude is much more professional.
95-98% of employees are replaceable, I have one or two colleagues who are irreplaceable and they get whatever they want/need, and quite right too.
As for myself I'm just a generic sysadmin who could be replaced tomorrow and no one would even notice.
For what it's worth, I've been working in IT for over 25 years and I have zero interest in it now (previously I couldn't learn enough about it). It's just a job, with very good terms and conditions and relatively well paid. It pays the bills and isn't too unpleasant. Previously I've worked in chemical manufacturing, a brewery, clerical work in local government, so I know what boredom, hard physical work and workplace bullying looks like, so I'm very grateful for my current job.

Depends. I've seen family members start a business, graft 12 - 14 hour days. And not really get anywhere with it. Sometimes I think it is about being lucky. Being at the right place at the right time type shit. In todays society, it's about who you know, not what you know. Everyone is trying to be someone they aren't. If I was to have my own business, it would be landscaping / gardening. I fucking love it. Yeah its hard work, but very rewarding. And I'd much rather be working outside, then stuck in some shitty factory listening to complaining cunts all day that piss me off haha.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Problem is, people are cheap and don't want to pay shit. Esp for lawn maintenance. They don't understand that as a business owner, you have employees to pay (unless you work by yourself), and on top of business expenses, you need to account for parts and repairs on your equipment when pricing out. Landscaping is also a cutthroat business. Lots of people undercutting each other. Problem is, price yourself too high, you're out of the market. Price yourself too low, and you don't make money.
Companies can't come out and cut your grass for $10, when he's driving a gas guzzling truck that pulls a trailer full of equipment operated by guys on hourly wages, while still accounting for wear and tear while trying to make a profit.

Sorry but as a business owner myself, and someone who was once on the other side of the fence, all I see is bitterness here. Owning a business is not easy. It is not as simple as you think. Try it, instead of whinging. You will then understand why your labour for a fixed price is a fair trade for both sides. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with having a normal job, and chasing material possessions does not make you happy.

[–]studyinformore11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's not even entitled to someone else's money for being a boss.
You should be paying your skilled labor a good wage, a wage that keeps them working for you.
When a boss is buying a six figure car or million dollar houses in florida, that generally burns your employees that see only a pathetic raise that doesnt even keep pace with inflation and cost of living increases.
That's America today. Bosses dont even want to do that, and then wonder why their workers quit, or they cant find people to work for them.

I started my business over twenty years ago. I've yet to have a single day off, holiday day or vacation. I make a ton of money, but make no mistake, this has been 365 days a year for 20 years, except on leap years, when it's 366.
[–]Staircase19781 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Most owners worked for years without being paid. They often built the company for free. All the employees have to do is show up. The company is already built.
With that said, I wouldn't work for a man like this. I'm a firm believer in offering ownership to dedicated employees. They have a long term, vested interest in the company. They value more than just a paycheck every two weeks. Any owner with that attitude deserves a company with no employees.
[–]Sir_manalot2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Bullshit.
Some small businesses? Yeah, sure. But they treat there employees right because they care about there business (spoiler: good workers go to good jobs).
Also, they didn't build that business for "free," they built it for the money they grow after it is well established. This isn't some charity shit and many of these leaders are just as disposable as everyone else is...and they know it. Which is why they work so hard to keep there power via any means necessary (including underhanded methods ofc).
Also, also employees are the one that build the company. The man on top is just the one with the initial idea or the money to fund the idea. Or do you think people like Bill Gates could sell anything without anybody to build all the computers he sold.
Also, also, also most businesses are already well established and passed from one rich guy to another at this point. Most do not even care about the company at all (employees usually care more).
Finally, nobody is entitled to anything. Which includes business owners and such. If an employer wants good workers, he has to pay for good workers...and good workers are never cheap.
[–]Staircase19780 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I've been around quite a few companies that started from nothing. The entrepreneur may work for years building the company and never pay himself much, if anything. You sound a bit like a commie. That's fine. We will just have to disagree on most of that. I don't mean that disrespectfully.
And I'm very much in favor of employee owned companies such as Lowe's and Publix. I worked for Walamrt while in college in the late 90's. Nearly every employee was a shareowner. They would match 20% of the stock you purchased. It was a great deal and it gave employees ownership in the company. We all got big dividend checks every year. I don't think it's like that anymore.
[–]Sir_manalot0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Anecdotal evidence is a logical fallacy and doesn't mean squat.
And I am a libertarian, the polar opposite of a commie. I believe that NOBODY is entitled to anything and if people want something, they have to give what is necessary or deal with it.
If a millennial wants more money, they have to work harder or accept having less money. Nobody owes them anything.
If someone wants a "lazy" millennial to work more, then they have to provide better incentivizes to get them to work more or accept them being "lazy." Millennials owe absolutely nothing to anybody else either.
Unlike conservative ideology, I do not think people who have power are entitled to anything and that nobody is innately responsibile for anything by default.
To get, you must give.
Ultimately, I hate the crony capitalism (and the authoritarian tradcucks that call it real capitalism) that we have now and want real capitalism back.
Exceptions still exist. But the system is currently about the poor paying for the rich and keeping the poor down to keep the rich ontop. As nothing scares the current leaders then someone better rising above them.

You can spend & save 20% at best. That's a joke, let's be honest.
[–]Chill-BL7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Government is more responsible for that effect, if you disagree with your employer, you either go to a different employer or start employing yourself.
Economic freedom in the end lies in the hands of government economic policies, not companies. (of course shitty companies exist, but I rather go without (or with less) legislation, than with less produce)
[–]Sir_manalot4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Yes and no.
Government is making it difficult, if not impossible for the little guy to go and make the full use of his potential.
But the government is just doing what big bussinesses wanted for the past 30+ years (much longer really).
Take McDonalds as an example, a company that only exists because of brand name alone now. A fast food restaurant that is more expensive then many sit down resteraunts now to get the same quantity of food. They are not as fast as they use to be, the quality has gone down, etc.
Why? Because nobody can possibly compete with them enough to motivate them to try as hard as they use too.
I cannot go out and make something that can realistically compete with McDonald's, the best I can hope for is to coexist with them and barely get by as a small local business (alot of that due to all the shitty regulations, but the problem goes deeper).
But in the era that McDonalds formed? Any man could of created something like McDonalds if they had the idea, passion and put the effort into it.
TLDR: we have crony capitalism, not real capitalism now.
[–]dude76242 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
So why even bother trying?
[–]Sir_manalot0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Because nobody is going to be there to save you if you need help.
What you do is find ways to get ahead using this knowledge.
Some examples: Go minimalist. Enter into a tradeskill and rush for retirement. Invest Freelance Etc.
Just understand that employers are your enemy, they are pushing you to accept bad deals for there sake and will be quick to undervalue or dispose of you.
[–]dude76240 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I meant why try running a small business? Not "why bother trying to make a living"? Minimalism is a good idea.
[–]Sir_manalot1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Ah gotcha.
I think the answer to that question is obvious tbh.
Just look at how many new small bussinesses are appearing on your area and how many of them are failing (most of them).
The answer to your question is, that in most circumstances, it isn't worth trying to start a small businesses.
The exception is if you live in area where competition is low or you are selling something new that you invented.
That is true!
[–]Chill-BL-2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I agree with everything, the difference is, I can walk away from McDonalds, I can take my money and put in somewhere else.
I understand that restaurant chains (and also the small bussiness owners) that are competing with them have it difficult due to the aforementioned points you have put forward.
but as you already said:
alot of that due to all the shitty regulations but the problem goes deeper).
alot of that due to all the shitty regulations
but the problem goes deeper).
I believe that.
But you can vote with your feet or your wallet.
It doesn't really matter where you go to as it stands, because you will still be tied to somewhat of the same regulatory body.
But it still matters, where you put your income in. Which is why we, MRA, feminist and other political tied bodies trying to compete within the culture framework. trying to incentivize certain behaviors of companies and punish the negative behaviors companies.
All though MGTOW in essence is A-political and doesn't have anything to do with playing this game. Most here in some shape or form still do. (Me included)
TL;DR: In essence I agree, but I think the silver lining lies within the culture competition. By trying to reward/punish through money.
The issue is that big companies like McDonalds cannot fail and if they end up doing a poor enough job that they do "fail", governments bail them out.
Take Disney, suppose that they keep pushing sjw shit for the next few years (which has been show to be costing them alot). Would America allow them to fail? Let other talented artists and story tellers have a chance at creating there own Disney?
No, they would pull a GM and bail them out and fix everything.
Which creates a bunch of problems. Including the fact that big companies do not have to really try anymore (and it shows), stagnating wages and such.
[–]Chill-BL1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So it will end up in economic collapse either way.
Paying them, keeps them afloat, not paying them makes the government keep them afloat.
I was under the impression only banks got bailed out, and that other such companies got different forms of protections (on their produce, or through monopolistic ways).
[–]Sir_manalot2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That is sadly the honest truth.
The company may swtich hands, but the people who screwed everything up will still be rich and the company will suffer no ill effects.
Aka crony capitalism.
[–]Futile-Resistance2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It's easier to change yourself than to change society. You could GYOW from consumer culture and buy a $2000 container home if you wanted, would drop rent to $0. Actually, the less you care about what other people think the easier it becomes find solutions to make your life better and easier.
I might give aquaponics a try eventually as a hobby myself, don't need the savings necessarily, but seems like a fun idea.
[–]Futile-Resistance-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, and you don't have to live anywhere you don't want to live. The game is rigged, but also optional.
[–]squiddy_s550gt1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Then ethier go minimalist or do something with your life. Pity parties are for women. Most single men i know live a comfortable life.
Unless they are divorced. That's the real rigged system
Food can be simplified. and housing can get mobile and costs reduced drastically.
You are very very correct about those being the major cost zones.
The good news is once minus slitch influences you can go to fundamental guy things.

This is loser talk. Want to be the boss? Do this:
Get yourself into 6-figures as soon as possible
Save 50% your income
Learn to invest
You will be a millionaire within 10 years if you do this. I know because I did it.
[–]TheLastMgtow3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
As if getting into 6 figures its easy. Most people will be old by the time they get 6 figures. Then they die, and their 6 figures ends in the hands of the state, or some woman or both.
Unless you have some illegal business. Minimalism is the actual real answer for quality of life. If you need nothing to thrive and be happy why would you waste your life trying to get 6 figures. Most guys wanting to get rich are bluepilled and are willing to give their health, time and youth pursuing an illusion. Once they are old and rich, they may realize their mistake in whoring themselves for just a number and the validation of society, but then its too late.
[–]PowaPunx0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Time is the most valuable resource you have. And no matter how rich you are, you cant buy time. We are all going to die.
[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Confirmed, you’re not MGTOW, you’re a loser.
[–]TheLastMgtow3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
Look. Cuck spotted. Keep working and buying soy. I laught at you. You will never know what mgtow is, especially if you need to shame other men to be workhorses for no reason like you. Keep your cancer to yourself. You are obviously a tradcuck and you are being downvoted
[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Workhorse? I don't work for money. My money works for my money. That is why you are a loser. You think you have to work for money.
[–]TheLastMgtow3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly. We are mgtows we are not stupid. We know how to spot you fake millionaires and financial coaches a mile away. If you who brag about it actually had any money you would not be here, and definitely you would not be so angry and shame other men as losers, because you WOULD know what it takes. Instead you are a loser obsessed in getting rich, so one day maybe you can feel good about yourself. And you come here projecting your insecurities on others- I pity you. Your validation one day will come from money, keep chasing.
My validation comes from myself and what i like to do with my time.

Yes keep being a slave and paying taxes. When you go mgtow and you live a minimalistic life you spend almost no money. All you need is meat and weights. But you probably need much more cause you are a bitch.

Yes keep being a slave and paying taxes.
You're kidding right? I'm a millionaire, I'm rich, rich people don't pay taxes.
When you go mgtow and you live a minimalistic life you spend almost no money.
Bitch, go to the MGTOW forums or Happy Bachelor, I've been MGTOW since about 2003 and I knew The Minimalists before their movie came out. I made my first $100K before your balls even dropped.

LMAO. Millionaires dont waste their time writting on reddit. What a cunt. You are the only loser here obviously. And you are projecting your insecurities on others. You might have left the plantation of women, but you are on a whole other plantation. You think of yourself as a loser just because you are poor. I pity you, you really think men that are not millionaires are losers? Damn, you were indoctrinated. I hope you die with cancer and a stroke yet swimming on worthless paper. Oh you edited it. You are the true definition of a money incel. Because you want to get rich so bad, you are here wasting your time talking about it. No rich man would was his time like that. No different should be your mentality when it comes to pussy. Damn it sucks to be you. In case you dont know, incels want to get pussy. I have enough money to be happy. Nobody sold me any ideas of grandeur, nor do i have a small penis like you who will only feel good about himself by compensating with numbers. My life is great without much money. But you cant picture that. Just like incels cant grasp mgtow.
