It's amazing how some things never change, especially the comment about a sense of justice. I don't know when I first realized it, but women don't have a sense of proportional retribution.

The concept of "eye for an eye" comes naturally to men. If anything it's a limit: anything up to an eye, for an eye. Mercy and forgiveness are always on the table.

For women, it's a starting point. At least an eye for an eye.

Look at divorce. In the case of a long term marriage with no glaring faults, I think most men would be satisfied with dividing assets 50/50, some alimony for a year or two if the woman was a SAHM. Give her the house if they have kids and she has at least 50% custody. Not happy, but satisfied.

For a woman though? They'll fight tooth and nail for everything, they're not satisfied even with 90% of assets, definitely the house, 100% custody of the children, the dog even though she doesn't like it, and alimony for life that can only ratchet up with her ex-husband's income. If he loses his job he's still on the hook for the payments based on his old income. Probably throw in some spousal and child abuse allegations for good measure.

I haven't read the source for this passage of Schopenhauer, or even very much of his work.

I'm going to be the unpopular one and say this right here on /r/MGTOW.

He's wrong. Yes, women can be dishonest. So can men. To say that men are the honest ones would be wrong. To say that women have more of a tendency to lie than men is wrong.

Have you ever dealt with small children? Both boys and girls tell lies. Did you hear the one about George Washington never telling a lie? Yet, he told a lie once or twice even as an adult. Lying is deep in human nature. To the extent we avoid deception, we can have a civilization.

Schoepenhauer's argument takes a proto-Spencerian "survival of the fittest" mindset and applies it to women. Since they are weaker than men, they must lie all the time. As if they would not have other ways of protecting themselves? For example, bearing of and caring for the young, and thereby being valuable to the group? And even this assumes too much.

There is no reason why men and women are naturally in competition with each other. That this competition exists is not based in human nature. Social Darwinism has no support logically or empirically. It is a fallacy. The problematic male-female dynamic of today is based on failing social patterns.

Most gender-oriented discussion on the Internet has a similar fault.

"A is a group. B is a person in group A. One time, B did C. As we all know, C is a very bad thing to do. Therefore, group A has a tendency to do C."

Did you catch the logical fallacy there? Just because B did C does not mean that all A has a tendency to do C. Just because one man abused a woman, or one woman lied about something does not mean men have a tendency toward abuse or that women have a tendency toward lying.

You can get into trouble by over-generalizing.

Trying to avoid deception is hard enough. It starts with being honest about our own selves and our own failings. I can't in good faith say that no man ever lies. That would be crazy.

Let's focus on the real problem. The dominant trend in society favors an imbalance of power, tilting heavily toward women. This does not mean that females are born bad anymore than males are born bad. It means that our society has a problem.
