I did 5 years post secondary in Biology - no jobs. Almost all the jobs available pay 40k or less per year.

Worked in warehouses for 30K. Realized that was going nowhere so I went to evening classes and online classes at a trade school. Lots of jobs in the trades.

Worked at a power plant then an oil refinery for the last 20+ years. Almost all male workforce and 75K+ to start is normal. 100K (including overtime pay) is common for those willing to work.

If they want to get 100K in debt to take English lit and women studies go right ahead.
